All l do is turn it on ,try the map, won't let me ,then I do fast activate. Whilst trying the map it should create a big file.
Sorry if you have tried that maybe start from scratch again with clean SD card.good luck.

I'm not convinced i've done the install of 9.702 navcore properly and something has gone wrong with ttsystem and ttgo files.

I know many will not like this, but I'm afraid I'm going to ask for someone to tell me EXACTLY what files I need to do this and EXACTLY how to do it.

I hope one of you fine gentlemen will oblige :)

Unzip the navcore so all navcore files are showing then try fast activate again.

Sorry I should've added, that is my tomtom folder on my desktop not on the SD card or internal storage. SD card has some garbage on it but I'm thinking it might be a good idea to format/erase and try again.

Well you could try starting again , just put map navcore and activate on SD card ,insert into unit and fire it up, then shut down and connect unit to PC and run activate again. Keep it all basic for no. If that fails you may have a corrupt map for torrents site, try the one off here ,bit slow to down load for free but it works for me.

TIME OUT!!!
For what every reason, you are screwing around with the internal, external & a SD card all at the same time. No wonder you are having problems!!
1. Erase the SD card, but do not format it.
2. Copy the 950 map folder to the SD card. Delete ALL .DCT files in the 950 map folder.
3. Unzip the 9.702 cab & put all of the files & folders on the card.
4. Put FastActivate.exe on the card.
5. Put a copy of the GO 730's ttgo.bif file on the card.
6. Run FastActivate.exe options 1,2 & 3.
7. Do neither more than nor less than steps 1 thru 6.
8. Put the SD card in the 730 & boot it.

Hi,

Thanks. This is exactly what I needed, however I don't quite understand step 5. Put a copy of the "new" GO 730's ttgo.bif file on the card.

Where is the "new" ttgo.bif file retrieved from?

Thanks

The bif file will be created when you turn on unit before connecting to PC to use fast activate
so it should be on internal hard drive of unit.it will be seen with the rest of navcore files.

Oh I see. So the procedure goes like this :-

1. Erase the SD card, but do not format it.
2. Copy the 950 map folder to the SD card. Delete ALL .DCT files in the 950 map folder.
3. Unzip the 9.702 cab & put all of the files & folders on the card.
4. Put FastActivate.exe on the card.
5. Fully start TT and then connect to PC to retrieve "new" GO 730's ttgo.bif file from internal storage??
5. Put a copy of the "new" GO 730's ttgo.bif file on the card.
6. Run FastActivate.exe options 1,2 & 3.
7. Do neither more than nor less than steps 1 thru 6.
8. Put the SD card in the 730 & boot it.

Nope sorry
Put SD card into tomTom then boot up whilst not connected to pc then connect to PC and get the file and paste onto SD card
Then with SD card still in unit and connected to PC use activate
