WinCE6, TomTom 7.45, Maps ????

Postby weblst » Mon Jun 27, 2011 6:06 pm

Oh learned ones,

I have installed 7.45 on my WinCE6 128mb chinese device and I have it running (yahoo!) but my maps will not activate. I have a folder called navigator in the root of StorageCard also a maps folder in the root of StorageCard. I have tried a few different tools to activate like fastactivate and easytools but when it starts it says no maps found ???. The tools are generating .dct files and appear to be ok. Any ideas please.

Navcore 7.45
Maps 870.3391

SD Card Structure:

/
/navigator
/australia.3391

Thanks..

Tomtom does not work properly on WinCE 6, With a bit of registry editing you can make it find the maps BUT it then crashes when a satellite lock is found.

Put the map australie and the biffile on a usb stick and activated the map. Sometimes this works. And after that place the map back on your TT.

For whatever reason, the downloaded Australia 870.3391 map came with two meta files,
Australia-335.meta
Australia-336.meta
You should delete the "Australia-335.meta", try activating the map, it should work this time.

Thanks for the replies guys,

Fatboyfun: I have read that it has dramas. I will keep persisting as Garmin and iGo work well on the device.

holyhead: Ok I will try that one thanks.

User222: I will look at the meta files and see. I also have the latest map so I will try that one.

Thanks again everyone.
