Windows 10 reports fast activate as trojan?

Fri Oct 11, 2019 2:05 pm

Hi,

I was trying to make a backup copy of the fast activate so I could use in future if necessary, and I noticed it was disappearing while trying to copy it to another part of the computer, then I got an alert from windows saying it was a wacatac trojan, details here:

It also reported another called occamy.c details here:

Curiously it only made the file disappear when I went to move it from one part of the file system to another, it didn't complain when I actually used it doing the work on the satnav.

Hi,

Upon further analysis, one came from the fast activate program and the other from quick fix gps. They weren't activated yesterday when I first used the program, it was embedded as part of windows boot up today and was quarantined several times today.

You are the one with the great pc skills. So today you have learned something (a so-called false positive)

I do wonder why you guys are so anti social??

As for whether it's a false alarm, no real evidence for that assessment. If you read my post properly, you would realise the threat is real given that the threats were happening a DAY AFTER I USED THE PROGRAM..

@ newtogps2019,

Mate, I and most likely every other person has used FastActivate without any issues whatsoever.

Windows 10 Defender and probably all other Anti Virus programs will always say it's a virus, in reality it's a false positive.
