The reason is that there has been no meta data released for that map yet.
If you download either 955.6746 (fully featured) or 955.6801 (limited features) maps, you will have no problem activating them with FA

And for the next time read the Topic.
Download Instructions:
A map can't be activated until a meta code is posted with it !!!
Meta codes are posted as soon as we get them, SO PLEASE DO NOT ASK!!!

Hi fredderf, i downloaded one of the maps you suggested (955.6746 (fully featured) and i am still having problems:-(
It came in 2 parts,, a 200 meg and a 23 meg file, the 200 meg file seems ok but the 23 meg file which i have downloaded twice gives this error (The archive is either in unknown format or damaged)
Having a nightmare downloading anything from the linkcrypt links...not sure if i should try 955.6801 (limited features) as i,m unsure if all the maps i try are broken or missing files? dont seem to be having any luck with anything i try and download via this website so your help would be well appreciated.
Many thanks

There are a few links on
this page to try that don't involve linkcrypt

Confirm you are clicking on Part 1 only, which will automatically open Part 2 and merge it with Part 1!!!

Hi, yes i clicked part 1 and extract files but it breaks at end
==========================================================
you need to have the following volume to continue extraction
insert a disk with this volume and press "OK" to try again or press "Cancel" to break extraction
==========================================================
both part1 and part 2 are in the same location too.
thanks

Download the map from the links I've just given you in post #9....I know they download and extract ok as I've just done it myself.
Make sure you download them to the same location > right click part 1 and choose 'extract here'

Thanks for your time fredderf, those links were great and i was able to extract the map no problem.. i have another problem now
When i boot the tom tom up it goes to agree,press that then street view comes up but gps wont come alive, also if i press the screen i cant get the menu up and the screen goes a weird grey colour then it just reboots, i patched the map and also just tried the gps fix tool also..sorry if i should be creating another thread for this,i will do that if i have to..
Anyone came across my issue.
Many thanks

It sounds like your device has too little memory to run such a fully featured map.
Either install one of Downunder's
9.510 navcores or map 955.6801

Still same issue with that map too fredderf, i have already installed this navcore recommended by tendriver(navcores-9-for-tomtom-devices-f124/navcore-510-t12861.html) but perhaps i did something wrong in that installation, i simply downloaded the navcore then copied it across to my device using teracopy and then patched the navcore using latest fastactivate.
The device did work ok when i got it but had really old 2008 maps on it.
Would clear flash tool help me or should i install older navcore or re-install current navcore..its a 1gb device
Thanks for all the help

Using Teracopy is not recommended as it will skip what it thinks are bad files like *.chk but these files are needed for the TomTom software to operate correctly.
It's better to extract the navcore directly from the archive onto the device, boot it up to get the 'no maps found' message, then copy across the map and patch it.
You can run the clear flash tool as well.
