xl2 audible speed limit warning

Mon Jul 04, 2011 8:12 am

hello
im trying to enable audible warnings when you exceed the speed limit on my xl2 iq routes edition.

i have navcore 9.151 and the sdkregistry hack to give me the full menu.
everything works fine but the tomtom services icon is greyed out? and i believe this is where i need to alter the preference.
if anyone could give me some advice or suggest an earlier navcore that would allow me to enable this feature it would be very much appreciated

Only TT Official Speedcams are setup in TT Services. Look in Main Menu, Change preferences, Safety preferences.

i think theres some confusion here...my speedcams work fine..they are the unofficial ones from pocketgps.

i want an audible warning when i exceed the speed limit when im nowhere near a cam...im told this is a feature on some models.

i have installed official tomtom cams and the services button is still greyed out...im led to believe this is where the setting is

1. I'm not confused. I repeat, "Only TT Official Speedcams are setup in TT Services".
2. Are not pocketgps files POIs?
3. Did you patch the TT Official Speedcams?

Thu Jul 07, 2011 2:44 pm

1. thank you, yes im aware of that
2. yes they are, and i know how to configure them
3. yes when i installed the official cams in an effort to make tt services work i did patch them

i have heard that maybe the sdkregistry hack and my navcore (being the latest) is not compatible with tt services ...this is the kind of advice im looking for...which navcore can i use to get tt services up and running , on my xl2 iq

On the WinCE versions the "Alert when driving faster than allowed" is in the safety preferences, Apologies if it's different on actual Tomtom units.

You are correct. There are 2 options.
1. Warn when driving faster than allowed.
2. Warn when driving faster than a set speed.

In all the v9 Navcores that I've used, these options are in the <Change Preferences> - <Safety Preferences> menu, as already mentioned above.

i dont get those preferences or options though ...my latest navcore gives me the short menu, with only the option to enable or disable safety alerts with tomtom cams installed...this is just the cams not the faster than speed limit warning

the sdkregistry hack gives me more features and takes some away...but still no speed limit preferences..and tt services is greyed out

does anyone know how i can get these preferences?...have i the wrong hack?...the wrong navcore?...or both?

does this help?...or do you need more info?

Well, maybe because this menu option is not included in you tomtom.mnu ?
You only get what's included in your custom menu ;)
