Hi

I am thinking of buying the TomTom Traffic Receiver for my XXL Classic Device with Western Europe Maps and would like to know if this unit is compatible with my device and will it work as advertised?

I've seen it advertised on Amazon and sold by Amazon for £32.35.

but the reviews are mixed with some users saying that it works fine and other who say that it sometimes has trouble locating picking up the traffic info.

The TomTom website also states that it requires the latest 'application' needs to be installed. My device has 880 maps installed and activated via the tools from navitotal and the app is 9.1xxx (I think) and I would like to know what the latest 'app' is for my device?

Any help/advice would be welcome.

Thanks bheart

9.430 is the current navcore for your XXL. 890 is the current map edition. The receiver, that you refer to, is the current & only receiver that is available.

I got the TMC receiver from Amazon for about 15US$, so you might want to shop around if you want to save some money.

Hi tendriver

Thank you for your reply.

Just to confirm, am I correct in thinking that the 'traffic receiver' would not work with my present 880 Euro West map and present 9.1xxx navcore?

Also, as I've not done this for a while, do I need the latest 'keygen/autoactivate' to install the maps and app?

I've been trying to download the latest Euro West 890 map version and/or, the GB & NI 890 map version for the last two days but keep getting the ilivid download link.

I've used IE9 and also the latest version of Firefox and entered the 'navitotal' pwd and pressed 'enter' and then clicked on the bottom d/l arrow but just get another page coming up saying the FREE download slots are in use, try again later and I'm then asked to get a premium account, so I gave up.

Thanks, bheart

1. It should work just fine with what you have.
2. You don't need the latest keygen, just the latest meta.txt file.
3. This is the correct way. That message does pop up from time to time.
