TTCurrentConfig will see a map, whether it is patched or not, unless there is a problem with it. It is not seeing your map.

It can't see the map as I told him to only install the plain NC first to check if the device boots further than the time setting.
Since it did not work he did not install a map as the device would not get to the point where you could use it.

I would have suggested loading a different NC & or map. No map doesn't seem too logical to me.

He tried that but with every NC the device gets stuck at the time settings.
He had a map installed before but after all failed I suggested to do a clean install with Home - that's why there is no map.
I wanted to see if the previous setup was damaged but with all NC's the result is the same.

Now I am confused, is there anything else either of you would suggest, if I am going to give Tomtom a try then I would not want a patched map , correct?
I Googled "Tomtom XXl freezing at clock set" and there are dozens of entries, it looks like built in obsolescence with this model,

A patched map will not have a negative effect!!

If you have tried several different complete & compatible navcore & map combos with no success, then I'm out of ideas.
