Than you are doing something wrong.
Winrar works just fine, please refer to the build in help if you have problems.
You extract the files, copy them to the root of your device and start FastActivate.

Two possibilities - (A) you downloaded a corrupted RAR file and should re-download a good copy (B) Your unrar software is not up to date - best place to grab winrar is probably from NINITE.COM I get all my utilities for windows boxes from Ninite excellent safe source for free-shareware software.
