Could somebody please advise: How often Honda updates their NAVI (Accord, Canada)?

Is worth at all to look for pirate versions, disks, whatever? New Accord 2013 is attractive so I am thinking between EX-L and Touring. But I am NOT going to pay for their highway robbery prices for disk updates...

just brought a second hand CR-V and it came with no disc, how can i check to see what version it is as the head unit looks brand new so do not know if its been upgraded/updated and if it is an old one can you still download the correct version???
