Possible to change nav voices of the medianav evo v9.1.3

Postby wobelaar » Thu Jul 07, 2022 12:33 pm

Hi there,

I absolutely hate the Dutch navigation voices that came with the medianav.
Is there a way to add more voices, or add tts?

Thanks!

hello
there are no tts on the medianav
to improve the voice, you have to modify all the oggs that are in the audio directory of the zip of your voice file by putting voices that suit you
for example we did that with miochacha for the Belgian and French voices

Hi Thanks for your answer. I did it by using total commander and replacing the zip with mine (which has the changed ogg files). However when I try to select the voice it just hangs. What did I do wrong? Are my ogg's bad?

Maybe you see the difference between these zips?

hello, I don't really know, but when I compare an ogg from the original version with your modified version and with our version, we see that I am the same in bit rate and sample rate and not you
I just put your ogg in the original file (because you are working on a nextgen voice file) and I have sound but in hyper accelerated mode so incomprehensible

Thanks for your explanation I tried converting it differently this time so that the file would match (I've uploaded it again with the zip so you can take another look at it). But it still just freezes the complete navigation when I try to select the voice.
Just so we're clear the steps I take when I want to replace a voice:
- Have the original zip of the voice you want to replace (in my case the male Dutch voice)
- Replace the ogg's in the zip on my pc with the editted ogg's
- Place that edited zip on a usb which also has Total Commander on it with the taskmanager application
- Start the car load Total Commander by inserting the usb
- Close the nngnav.exe in the taskmanager
- replace the zip in the voices folder of the navigation (system volume 4 I believe)
- Shut down the car
- wait a few seconds
- start the car and medianav
- go to navigation
- choose the edited voice (when I select the voice however, the system freezes)

Converted wav to ogg (correct frequency):

ne dézippe pas tes fichiers, tu les travailles sur ton ordinateur et tu les glisses directement au bon endroit
de plus, si tu travailles avec winrar, il te faut une version 3.93 ou alors il te faut aller modifier une valeur dans les paramètres, il faut Décochez la case "format d'heure haute précision"

voila ton fichier dans le zip voice et test sur MN2 et MN3

sur le MN2 je n'ai pas de hauts parleurs mais on voit que ça passe bien, sur le MN3 tu entends bien ton fichier

do not unzip your files, you work on them on your computer and you drag them directly to the right place
moreover, if you work with winrar, you need version 3.93 or else you have to go modify a value in the parameters, you must uncheck the box "high precision time format"

here is your file in the zip voice and test on MN2 and MN3

on the MN2 I don't have speakers but we can see that it's going well, on the MN3 you can hear your file well

Ahhh then that's my problem! I've used WinRar 6.8 or something this whole time... Thanks again! Awesome that you've made a video :D
Also what do I need to change so I can make this edit a third Dutch language option? Or is that too difficult to get into?

Btw I was also wondering. What type of navigation is actually running on the MN2? Is it Igo Primo? Igo Primo nextgen? Or a proprietary version of Igo?
Like what are other things you can change about the navigation? Can you install skins? Better junction views? Or is it all just very basic?
