A question...My wife and I are heading for Europe (from NZ) in September and we are getting a hire car.
I have one of the 5 inch Chinese units which is YEARS old. I started it up and put the latest NZ/AU maps in, and it's working fine.
Will I be able to add all these files and the unit will work in Europe?
Is there anyway I can test it before we leave?

yes it will work fine in Europe. Check if there is room on the device for all the countries you will need. Depending on the device you will probably be able to add a microsd card to add more memory if you need to

Diodn't work. Only map shown was the NZ one.

Wondering if I need to be in Europe so GPS recognises the maps.

It should work fine no matter where you are in the world I've just confirmed that it works properly on my device for a route in Australia while I'm at home in New Plymouth.

As a first troubleshooting step, follow the onscreen menu within the navigagtion device to "MORE/HELP/ABOUT/MORE/CONTENT/MAPS" and check that your europe maps are installed and NOT marked inactive in red and let me know how that goes...
