Speedcams txt file

Postby brnrds » Wed Jul 22, 2015 5:55 pm

I have an rather old igo 8.3 navigation device.
Found newer updates for speedcam Nl (Also newer maps 2014)
But to replace the old speedcam.txtfile would be a disaster, cause it contains a couple of other countries. (Belgium France Germany Austria).
How to ad up a single speedcam.txt to the existing ones?
Or is there anywhere a complete europe txt file?
I found a file with all countries of Europe, but each is a single speedcam.txt file
Like for instance speedcam_nl.txt

Just add the different country.txt files in an empty speedcam folder and igo will do the rest.
Or look on the internet for a Europe file.

Thank you for the answer.
I've tried that, but the device never finishes it's speedcam procedure.
It also didn't start properly. Hangs in the procedure.
I had to restore a backup of the whole card.
I have a Europe map with all the countries as TXT.
I don't need them all.

Is there a way to transform the txt files to the required .spdb or .spud ?

Igo compiles the spdb file and that can take a while, esp. if the device is older and has no power (like the new ones) and the speedcam file is big or speedcam files are numerous. So don't conclude too soon the device hangs (which does not mean the device doesn't freeze).

Wow, that was an extremely handy program Shoimy95 thank you.
The device started quickly, and ran through the procedure of warnings, hope that the data is also correct. which i have to find out of course.

Katastrofe
In the previous case, I left the device on for about a night, but it never finished the job for only 5 countries.

Some older IGO8 builds have this issue, true. Sometimes it's a low resources/low power device that has the same effect. Or the combination of course.

@ Shoimy95
Thanks very much!!! :023:
Never heard/read about this program before. I am going to try this !

My older device, good condition, which i seldom use, accepts only SD cards (max 4 GB.)
It's a bit hard to find these cards, specially the faster ones, I have only SD 2 GB types (low performance)
Wonder if i could use an SD adapter with a 4 GB SDHC minicard?

These are quite cheap.

Probably not because your device only accepts only SD not SDHC.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

Please do NOT post any thanks. Simply press the hand icon with the "thumb up" which is the thank you button.

The older your device, the harder it must work to read all information. It has limited power and storage.
You could better the performance by limiting the maps and speedcams to the countries you need. When you are in Holland, why would you need Hungarian maps and speedcams? It will only slow down the device.

Well you're right it didn't work with the adapter.
Also not in a camera for only SD.
Have to find a real SD card.
Thanks for the tips.

For Igo 8.3

I have a soundfile which indicates the speedlimits.
But I can't find where to add this voices?
They are different from the chosen guiding voices.

It also contains a small list of related speed commands.

Could I add this to the CVS file of the TTS voices?
And add the soundfile to the existing one?
At this moment I only get a notice when I'm over the speedlimit.
So "your driving to fast" but no mentioning of the limit, only an icon on the screen with the speedlimit.

Speed Camera Voice File Structure
=================================

Fixed_Camera.ogg - "Speed Camera"
Mobile_Camera.ogg - "Mobile Camera"
Redlight_Camera.ogg - "Redlight Camera"

Section_Start.ogg - "Section Camera"
Section_End.ogg - "End of Section"

Speed_Limit_Zero.ogg - "No Speed Limit Available"

Speed_Limit_010_kph.ogg - "10 kilometres per hour"
Speed_Limit_010_mph.ogg - "10 miles per hour"
Speed_Limit_015_kph.ogg
Speed_Limit_015_mph.ogg
Speed_Limit_020_kph.ogg
Speed_Limit_020_mph.ogg
Speed_Limit_025_kph.ogg
Speed_Limit_025_mph.ogg
Speed_Limit_030_kph.ogg
Speed_Limit_030_mph.ogg
Speed_Limit_035_kph.ogg
Speed_Limit_035_mph.ogg
Speed_Limit_040_kph.ogg
Speed_Limit_040_mph.ogg
Speed_Limit_045_kph.ogg
Speed_Limit_045_mph.ogg
Speed_Limit_050_kph.ogg
Speed_Limit_050_mph.ogg
Speed_Limit_055_kph.ogg
Speed_Limit_055_mph.ogg
Speed_Limit_060_kph.ogg
Speed_Limit_060_mph.ogg
Speed_Limit_065_kph.ogg
Speed_Limit_065_mph.ogg
Speed_Limit_070_kph.ogg
Speed_Limit_070_mph.ogg
Speed_Limit_080_kph.ogg
Speed_Limit_080_mph.ogg
Speed_Limit_090_kph.ogg
Speed_Limit_090_mph.ogg
Speed_Limit_100_kph.ogg
Speed_Limit_100_mph.ogg
Speed_Limit_110_kph.ogg
Speed_Limit_110_mph.ogg
Speed_Limit_120_kph.ogg
Speed_Limit_120_mph.ogg
Speed_Limit_130_kph.ogg
Speed_Limit_130_mph.ogg

So you get for example:

"Speed Camera", "50 miles per hour"
"Mobile Camera", "50 miles per hour"
"Redlight Camera", "50 miles per hour"
"Section Camera", "50 miles per hour"
"Speed Camera", "No speed limit available" (where limit is zero)

And for Redlight Camera only:

"Redlight Camera" (no speed announcement)

The files you have should be in a folder called "Audio". This folder shuold be copied into the root of iGO8 folder.
This is the structure of this folder and the inner folders/files:
Image
Within this folder you should have your language folder/files:

To use this alert files, you need to use a skin (in iGO8). this is the one I use:
post131130.html#p131130

Use the iGO speed camera settings to choose this voice files (Ultra sound (IGO8)).

Instructions of how to use the files (wav) in Primo can be found here:

No help by PM, post your questions on the relevant forum and thread only!
I'm sorry, but please don't PM me with reupload requsts.
