1082 Map Compatability Chart

Postby bondy99 » Sat Jan 15, 2022 10:49 am

Hello,
I've noticed there are some 1082 maps showing , however I cannot see / locate where the 1082 Map Compatability Chart is located. I have a TomTom XXL540, is that device classified as NAV3 in the scheme of things. From memory my TomTom Australia Map is 1080_11143, trying to find 1082 map compatability chart.

Cheers

We are all waiting for Orni to find the time to prepare this (or edit/amend the 1080 version)

Your device is a NAV2 so the 1082 NAV3/4 maps are not relevant

Doh! Very good point fredderf as there are (currently) no 1082 maps for the old NAV2's!

Is there a way of upgrading the old NAV2 that I have to a NAV3 without purchasing a new GPS device?
Thanks.

In a word, no. They are totally different devices which use different methods (software) to link to a PC/TT server (plus all the technical stuff too), so, no.
NAV3's are cheap as chips now if you really want/need one but the question is, why do you think you want/need a NAV3 device if your NAV2 is running well?

Answer is my NAV2 device is working well , due to lot of development of new suburbs , roads and streets in Queensland and New South Wales, new or upgraded maps are always good to have, nothing worse than no such suburb or no such street or no such road is seen when inputting destination.

All the time TT update their maps every 3 months as they do now even for NAV2's you may as well stick to just getting the latest (currently) 1080 map

Forget about 1082 as even TT can't explain why they've released these other than for those maps/regions that include France due to revised speed limits. The next official (probably 1085's) will be out next month anyway

Cool, that explains, I thought there was something odd, going from 1080 to 1082, 1085 is the one I'll wait for. Thanks for clarifying
