Keep getting .dct error and map incomplete never had this before (map from freehosted links and TTActivator; same)

Speedcams update fine, reverted to 1135_12405 and fine from SD card backup. But I done loads of updates (since 1065) and never hit any issue.

Anyone else or where do I start?

That map is actually a NAV 3 map, not a NAV2 map for your device so you need to search around here & maybe other forums to find out how to use a NAV 3 map on a NAV 2 device

I just used the older map from the compatibility page and they've worked up until now? I did have the patched Navcore and I just tried the 9.702 Navcore and patched it to same end.

Nevertheless, I will do as you say, thanks for the heads up

So from another forum I got a Optimise_Nav3.exe, ran it. It asked me to delete a couple of directories / functions then optimise the map, so I did. Result still same. Seems to be about the amount of RAM required to load the map? But the UK&ROI map isn't all that big, I still backup to a 1GB card (to and including 1135) and there are no more or less functions enabled than on the last map but there are no Nav2 1140 maps here for the territory.

I'm still using the patched 9702 Navcore so I'll revert to backup again and use the (optimised) map replacement method I've always used.

If there are any links / posts here, the search isn't finding them, so at the cost of being a pain can't you point me if you know where they are please?

Why are you using a truck-specific navcore like 9.702 instead of the 9.541 as shown in your ttgo.bif (post #1)

I stopped using FastActivate for several months.
All last maps came through TTActivator (map download, meta-txt, patching, safety cams, quickgpsfix).

The best navcore with a Go730 is 9.541. Perfect with a nav2 map (or even a nav3 map if SDHC card is large enough).
Navcore 9.702 is rather to use with a nav2 map for truck.

Did you check if downloads were interrupted or link had failed ? If navcore was changed, try a new install of 9.541.

What about testing TTActivator once more ?

Because it said Go x30 as well? It does work (as well as 9.541 in this instance, generally higher is better and 9.541 is old [2018]) plus there was no link to the patched version on Zippyshare. I eliminated it being the Navcore anyways.

My version of FastActivate was quite old. However, I downloaded the newer FastActivate from the post above, it reports version 22.0.0.0 the same meta.txt is generated (the same code as the 'copy/paste' from the Metacodes thread).

It does now report the length of the GPS QuickFix (five days from now?) so I think I need to look at updating GPS firmware (GSW3.2.4TT_3.1.00.12-C35B1.02), the old FastActivate version (31/12/99?) just said 'SiRF Star updated to latest version'.

But, despite downloading the map two ways (freesharing link/zip archive and TTActivator) I still see the 'Incomplete Maps' legend against the 1140_12532 map and it was the same size unpacked either way (one with a zip archive CRC check; 436,385,186 bytes) so I'm confident the map is downloaded as it should be.

There is no upload of or metacode for a Nav2 map. How long has the map been on 1140 release? The 1135 map was the Nav3 direct 'descendant', I didn't do 1130, and 1125 was one of several in the meta.txt attached (these are mymeta)

Can't honestly say which 1125 map was used as the backup is gone. mymeta follows;

So TTActivator 1.20 says the last map (1135_12405) was arm9-mnt when it was nav3 according to the latest equivalence table.

I have a feeling I need to wait for another UK+ROI map to land with a meta.

The error you mentioned occurs when the meta code has not been added to the system. I see that the meta codes of the 1140 set maps have not been added to the system yet. In the TTActivator menu meta loading section, there are still codes for maps with the 1135 set. This can also be done with FastActivate. Try entering the codes into the system manually or activating the map with TTActivator again after a day or two.

To fix the dct error, I added the codes of the 1140 set to the META folder in the files of my XXL model device, edited the lines to have the same characters as the other lines and saved them. Then, when I started the TTActivator application and selected the activate option in the map activation section, the map became active. By the way, the meta codes were added to the TTActivator meta file, but I could not activate the map before adding it to the device.

...or simply add the 1140 one(s) you want to your meta file which is in your TTActivator folder

The last bit I'm interested in (fixing the .dct error).

Always FastActivate.exe lives in the root of my device, as does meta.txt (never META folder), I have edited the lines of meta.txt to contain the meta code as per my previous post.

Always the map is on the device first to activate. Old map is overwritten and all .dct and old .pna are deleted. Map folder is renamed to new map name. At this point I do the zip folder overwrite (just GB) and overwrite the SafetyCam .ov2

Process is delete ttgo.bif and restart the device. Once the map says it can't be used, reconnect to PC and use FastActivate.

After successful patching, device is restarted and that's a bingo. Just not this time (.dct error).

I have aktivated the map with fastaktivate and it works fine.

So, went back to basics. Formatted the device.
D/l and connected to TTHome. D/l navcore 8 and Jane voice.
D/l 9.541.1.2042-CAB-Navcore-GO, extracted over.
Reapplied TTActivator d/l ed map, Speedcams and zip (GB).
Transferred FastActivate to root.

Restarted device. Cannot use Jane. Selected Jane.
Cannot use map. Reconnected to PC.

Ran FastActivate. Updated meta, patched navcore, patched map and cams.



How can I recover my recent destinations from my old backup? Because that's about all I'm missing save a custom POI set, which I will get from the same backup. Understand I can now delete Ephem folder and just use the GPS as the firmware is 3.2.5

Thanks to all who gave input and in advance to anyone who can sort the recents issue.

mapsettings.cfg in old map folder is where recent destinations are (assuming they ARE transferable to a new map folder which I reckon they most likely are)
