Attention! Maps 1025 'fornokey' Error!

Attention! Maps 1025 'fornokey' Error!

Postby fredderf » Wed Feb 27, 2019 6:03 pm

We've identified an error in a lot of the new 1025 maps which might prevent them from being activated successfully (assuming they have a matching meta code of course).

The error is in the *.pna file that resides in each map folder...luckily it is easily fixed and you don't need to download the map again.

For this example, we will be using the Europe_1025_9389 map:

To fix the problem you need to open the Europe_1025_9389 map folder and locate the Europe.pna file > right click on the Europe.pna file and open it with Notepad and make the following changes:

Edit out the following text in red and save the file:

ID=Europe_forokeys.pna995077800
1025
build=9389
id=3149458

It should now look like this:

ID=Europe.pna995077800
1025
build=9389
id=3149458

Once completed, save & close the file & activate the map using the normal procedure

Update: So far we've been unable to find a map that won't activate successfully before the edit detailed above however it WILL affect the name of the map shown on the device.
Therefore, we are leaving this warning in place and will leave it up to the individual members discretion whether they would like to make the edit to correct the name or not.

Just out of curiosity, where and/or why has this come from?

Now my Tomtom let's me choose maps between "Europe" and "Europe forokeys". Haven't found any difference though. :D

There is no differend and you don,t have to edit a map anymore.

Hi, thanks @fredderf for the suggestion, the map I had chosen had this error but I have still a problem.
The map it's Italia_1025_9432, I opened the file Italia.pna and I found Italia_forokey.pna, now the file it's
ID=Italia.pna
1619287320
1025
build=9432
id=3149458
But when I try to patch the map it appears this

Incomplete Map(s): Italia-101897.meta (arrow) .dct ERROR

It's the second time I download this map, so it's a problem with this map or something else ?
Thanks for the help

Dark green 9
Light green 6

Forget the difference between light and dark green

Total you can use 15 maps

And you can only use the maps if a metacode is available.

Without a metacode you only wasting your time by downloading such
a map.
Wich device you use with navcore 9.541 (one,Go etc)

My device it's a start, if I open the map Italia_1025_9432 I find inside Italia-101897.meta, so may be it's the meta code and if I'm not wrong, the map should be complete of meta code.
The strange thing is that initially I had difficulty downloading due to my connection and I had to redo the download several times because it was not successful due to my problems, but I had clicked on another older map and the navitotal site sent me back to a download site where I found 2 files to download, then clicking on them sent me back to filefactory. Then when I solved the connection problems with my provider I tried the next day and I saw that there was a map with a higher number, so I thought it was more recent, clicking the map I was sent back to a different site with 1 file only instead of two to download. Is not that maybe there should be two files to download and one is missing, so the map is not complete?

For the map ItaIia_1025_9432, the metacode is not yet known!
So impossible to activate.
Download Italia_1025_9386 or Italia_1025_9389.

Italia-101897.meta is NOT a metacode!

There is no meta code available for that map (9432)

Also, I have given you the link to the meta codes.

I suppose you have read that properly (I doubt it)

So you have to use an other map i.e.Italia_1025_9389

================
1) Make a backup of your Device and delete only the country map.
--
2) Reset The Device (minimal 15 sec) and start it till the announcement "No map found"
--
3) Download the map Italia_1025_9389
noref.php?url=https://www.filecrypt.cc/Container/58E8805778.html
unpack and copie the plain map Italia_1025_9389 (no speedcams,poi,etc) to your Device in his own folder.
If you open the map you see the individual files and probably a folder (brand).
Not a map in a map.

4) Copy "FastActivate.exe" to your device
viewtopic.php?f=127&t=19452

Run "FastActivate.exe".
Select 1
After 1 go to the root Device and rename the txt file
Updated_meta in
meta
Select 2
Select 3 and wait for the annoucment navcore patched.
Done.
--
5) Give a 15 sec reset and start the device look if everything works fine.

We like to hear the result Good or Bad.
And keep away from TomTom Home.

Thanks.
Normally in the past years I was connecting to tomtom home to fix the gps locations with the maps downloaded via navitotal without ever having problems, I've never received alerts for maps downloaded elsewhere, but last day I've done it and the map I was using it was blocked.
I suspect that now they placed a modification to block the device with map not originally purchased from them or more probably to block the devices now they say are no longer supported, so I tried again to use fastactivate and everything was back to work.
So I agree that it's better now not to use tomtom home.
In the past I have never had problems with other maps and speed cameras, I'll let you know if with another map everything is ok, thanks for now for the help.

If everything works again make a backup (Not with TT Home). After that you can connect the start with TT Home and you can load a gpx fix. I have a start to and no problem to got a gps fix. On the other hand you can get a gps
fix using FastAktivate so you don,t need TT Home

Infact, the last times I have not seen that with fastactivate you may also fix the gps locations, I saw it yesterday.
Tomtom home it was useful because it warned me about new maps release and the code of it, so I may check then on navitotal for it, but now it's totally useless to use it since my device is no longer supported

Ok, it's done, the map works correctly, I also installed the premium speed cameras.
I found in the file .pna the word _forokeys, object of this topic, but the map it was working also with this, in any case I deleted it as described above.
So the problem was that the meta code as suggested by you has not yet been released.
Thanks a lot for your help, next time I'll check better if the map has the meta code.
