Hi

Could someone please explain to me what the differences are between these 2 maps?

I'm aware that 8816 does not support CSpeech/ASR and yet is much bigger in file size. Does it contain more map detail (eg buildings etc) or is it that it's a specialist map (eg truck etc).

Europe_1005_8763 --- 2.85 GB
Europe_1005_8816 --- 3.49 GB

PS. I have a One XL, navcore 9.510.

1005.8763 is a NAV 2 map whereas 1005.8816 is a NAV 3 map

A Nav 2 map is used on the older models like your XL/Go 5xx/7xx/9xx etc
A Nav 3 map is used on slightly newer devices like the Go 820/825/1000/1005 etc and inbuilt Mazda sat navs

You can still use a Nav 3 map on a Nav 2 device provided it has NC 9.0xx and above. Nav 3 maps are supposed to have better detail over a Nav 2 map but I don't know if it'll be noticeable on a Nav 2 device as I've never tried it myself.
