Go940 freezes after new map installed

Hi,

Installed truck map 1055 10406 On my go 940...

Had it working briefly, then it started freezing, switched maps, then back to truck map, but still freezes...

Then i read on here, that if you delete current map data and current location data, it should work...
I have done this numerous times and it still freezes,although I can't find the current location file anywhere, so i can't delete it !

Unit only freezes when i touch navigate to or even prepare route.....i can navigate through all the menus with no problems...

Hope you guys can give me some idea as what to do, or i will have to carry on using my 3 year old map !

Are the speedcams installed if so delete them and looks if it works without speedcams.

Well i have managed to get it to work, after many attempts of reinstalling maps and speedcams, it was my old map settings file, that was making it freeze, once i deleted that, it worked fine !

The only problem i have now, is that the unit will switch off when the voice instructions are spoken at junctions, etc, etc, this happens 70% of the time...

Can this be fixed or is it time for a new sat nav haha

Try a hard reset by holding down the power button for an extended time....you'll see a BIOS screen after which you can press the power button again to boot normally to see if it's helped

Well I'm still having problems lol

The unit will only stay on when it is on silent, it will still navigate ok though...

The only thing I can do now i think is...to do a fresh ' clean ' install of a new navcore and then install map, so everything is new...as before i have just deleted my old map from my old navcore and then installed the new map...
