I am new to the tomtom navigators, so I need your help to update my system to a newer map version.

I have an integrated tomtom carminat on my 2014 Renault Scenic, loaded with Europe 2013 maps.
I'd like to update them to the most recent version I can. Could you please explain the steps to do so? Can I go straight to v1xxx or do I have to do it step wise?

my system reports:
Device AK6HA BAC8E
App 9.884.1609031.550 OS 1574740
GPS v.1.20, Boot 83.9378
Map 'Europe" v905.4796

You can only buy a new map. For the right procedure look on the TomTom website.

Unfortunatly ... on older scenic (with older TomTom) it's possible,
but on newer ones (2012+) with TomTom LIVE - buying the map is the only solution ...

I don’t think so, it is possible but you must order sd card with custom CID from Alibaba (one with CID from original card, google it ). That I see on another forum, I have not try yet but many people in forum have success with it.

Well, nunu, since you only have two posts (although a registration in 2013) on this forum I don't give much credit to your suggestion.
In fact I much more suspect a commercial motive.

In short: don't follow this Alibaba route without good and reliable evidence.

I sign me in any forum if i need something from it, or like in this case if i mean i can give somebody info that i have long time lost to find it...
I´m from Croatia and have nothing with any commercial motiv, but in my country somebody sell tomtom carminat live 2018 sd card for 40€, that was a reason why i have looking for solution, because i know he have not pay original card from tomtom...
But like you say, i am new hier and you know it better...

Thank you for your explanation. I really hoped to find an easy way to update the maps, as they are getting old. TomTom charges an arm an a leg.

You're best chance is waiting for TomTom to have a sale for their maps. They can give a discount of about 40%.
