TT takes long time to connect, and cant remember time

Postby shy007 » Mon May 06, 2019 6:45 am

Hi guys, got a issue with a TT one.

I have installed the right navcore after the wnro problem, and a south west map .

i have this installed on several tomtoms, and never got a problem.
but now the tomtom of my sister is acting weird after the update.

First it takes along till its connects, almost 15 min, and the weird thing is, it cant seem to remember the time.

Every time i start the damn thing it tells me its 0:00 o clock :)

Is this a software problem, or is the TT broken?

like i said, i have installed this on several tomtoms, and i havent a problem with them, it loads very fast en de clock remains good.

hope you guys got a idea.

Thankyou lads.

Maybe a quickGPS fix will help use FastAktivate for it.
About the time you can still navigate.

It still calculated time to your destination.
So calculate your arrival time yourself.
Not bad for a device which is approx 12 years old since introduction. :tease:

I too have noticed my TomTom device which is XXL540, which is no longer supported does take a long time to detect satellites and also had incorrect time. The battery has been replaced with a new one. Time has been set correctly, on couple of occasions as I drove, the time reverted back to what it was previous to the change weird hey!

I can no longer obtain quick gps fix from TomTom directly as my device is no longer supported but still works despite the two issues mentioned.

Apart from purchasing a new device, I am a loss as to why these issues occurred.

You don,t need Home for a QuickGPSfix you can use Fastaktivate.

You need to update your navcore to NC 9.541 which will address these issues...also see holyhead's advice above for GPSFix

Bear in mind that you'll need to patch the navcore again so it'll recognise downloaded maps

frederf and holyhead,

Many thanks for the suggestions and I can confirm after downloading new Navcore NC 9.541 update and quickfix utility, after using FastActivate, all is good again, no issues.
