the newest map for go 930

Postby nmkeraj » Thu Sep 03, 2020 9:56 pm

What the newest map for Europe can I install into Go 930? I downloaded 15055.10388 but it has 4.5 GB. So more than RAM of Go 930. And it is ttpkg format. I have installed maps v 930.5563 and it is not ttpkg. By the way, Go 930 is probably NAV2. I don't know what is NAV2. NAV3 etc. I presume it is not NavCore. Is it firmware? Can I upgrade it to Nav4?

Use a smaller map
Europe 1055_10379
and start reading carefully

Yeah you are right. But the chart doesn’t say the volume of the maps.

Thank you for your advice. I have installed 1055_10379 and works perfect. 250GB has just left of RAM. I have deleted speech of not used languages. May I upgrade RAM? Or to do something that TT could read bigger SD cards than 2GB?

First check your bootloader
Checking bootloader (the only reliable method)
Enter a device reset 15 sec.
Then turn on the device and hold the start button until you
get info screen. Which bootloader is there.

It sounds good. So I can use bigger maps than current one, can't I? How about higher version of bootloader? Will it change anything? Where can I read about this? ANither question, by the way talking to the expert, what is NAV2, 3... ? Is myTT NAV2? Can I change it? Is it firmware or firmware is yet another thing? Thank you for detailed and replies.

.
A higher bootloader don,t change anything. From orgine you can,t update nav 3 devices with free maps but you can use maps from nav3 devices on nav2 devices if you have the metacode. the 930 is a nav2 device. you can,t change the firmware.
If you read the next topic then you know wich ar nav3 devices. In the mean time there are much more nav3 devices. So stick to nav2 devices and if there is no map with metacodes availble use a nav3 map if there
is a meta code for it. I suppose the Europe map is more then enough and I don,t think that you going to drive in all the Europe countries.

Ok. What are maps in ttpkg format? I have downloaded one but you know it has only five files that’s it. Does it need extraction? Regarding firmware, there is flashing tool. Is it worth using this? Is it firmware that states what NAV is it?

I don,t know but the map I downloaded for nav3 has 1 file (Europe_1055_10439)
You have to extract the files. I don,t think using firmware stated what nav it is.
What is the purpose to trying to update a nav2 device to a nav3 device.

Thank you for your replies. They are very helpful. I asked about maps originally. Now I started talking about system and hardware stuff. I think I should ask about it in different category. Maps are done :) Thank you
