There's always a lot of confusion regarding these maps and their coverage and mistakes get made...even TT get it wrong. Poteo_Roke has done a lot of work on his document so I believe him but if you're unsure you should test it out for yourself. However, Europe Central 1045 series maps don't have any meta's released yet so I would go with Central Europe which does include France and has a meta released as well. The version of the map plays no part.

I'd recommend upgrading your XXL to a Go x40/x50 and use an SD card so you have enough space for the full Europe map amongst others and then you won't have this problem. There are plenty available on eBay at some very good prices.

I have downloaded map Central_Europe_West_1045_10036, and placed it on my Tomtom XL Classic.
If I start the Tomtom it says "you cannot Central_Europe_West-102327" on this device...

Please help?

Did you try and activate this map with FastActivate?

If you did, you would've seen an error as that map doesn't have a meta code released on the following page...therefore it can't be activated:
