I'm new here and most of the links are dead, so i cant do the trick on my own.
Could you help me to install if it is needed new navcore and which one appropriate for my device(7.8?) and could i download certain maps(I'm interested in Italy and Bulgaria)?The device is last updated with TomTom HOME.

It should be possible but it's going to be tight as space is limited on a 1GB device so make sure you do a full backup before you proceed as Holyhead says in case you need to revert.
Start with the Eastern Europe map before adding the Italy map.

Thank to both of you for the replies, i updated and put Eastern Europe but there is no meta codes and i will download tomorrow another Eastern Europe maps to try.

With Eastern Europe i didnt found any succes, but with Italy i downloaded Italia_1015_9156(there is meta code) and is now working, thank you very much.

Whoops, sorry my mistake...it is Europe_East 1005.8763 (1.01GB) that has a meta code not Eastern Europe 1005.8763

You're going to struggle to find a map that includes Bulgaria/has a meta code/and is small enough to fit in the space you have available

The next best ones that meet that criteria are the following but they are quite old now and might be difficult to find:
