Tomtom one, shutdown issue

Tomtom one, shutdown issue

Postby shy007 » Sat Oct 09, 2021 11:44 am

Hi friends, got a little issue over here.

i have bought about a year ago a tomtom one for my sister, i installed a new battery in it, en it works perfectly.

however, she began complaning that the tt wouldnt turn on.

the case is, that she have set the tt in the car on permantely power, en she leaves it in the car plugged.

the tomtom wont shutdown, and after a day or so it takes a long time to boot.

she has given me the tt yesterday with the news that the battery is broken, and it needs to be replaced.

however, after a good charge evrything was perfect yet again.

i think her cable is broken, so ive got another one for her.

my suggestion is the the issue began after the car is set of after a drive, but the tt stays on.

in the menu i have activated the little box in the settings that the tt should turn of after losing power, but that doesnt work.

after reading on this beautiful forum i tried to remove the file noautosuspend.dat, after i take the power out it tells me its gonna shutdown after 10 seconds, but it stays on.

what can you guys suggest me to do to shutdown the tt after the power is out?

i know long story, but i ratther try to explain it well.

have a good saturday guys.

Sounds like the system is screwed up a bit...try a hard reset either via a pin hole on the bottom of the device or by holding down the power button for an extended time

Yes, that's what I'd do as it only takes a few minutes > do a full backup> wipe it> re-install the navcore and add a new 1075 map

That's weird, I'd try and hard reset or maybe pull the plug on the battery to do a full shutdown and try it again

Actually, it could also be the button is partially stuck in the down position...opening it up again might unfreeze it?

Also what happens if you remove the SD card, does it still happen?

ok , i think i figured it out.
it has to do with the brand and type of sd card.

i was using a 16 gb car over and over again, and nothing.

then i did a clean install from a 2gb card, and succes.

really weird, im gray now.

gladly it worked :)
