I am a novice in this field, I have a TomTom XL with this card in it "Central_Europe_North_965_7280 " What map of West Europe should I have now to be up to date?

The equivalent is the map Central_Europe_North_1030_9578
But as they are not meta code available for this map for the moment, you have to wait or use another map compatible or buy this map and then share with us the meta... :023:

My files are not damaged. Try using latest winrar to unzip.

now to get these maps working is it possible with tomtom nc 9,541 on 530 xl ive done loads of reading finding it a bit hard to grasp is it possible to make a meta file to suit
