how to download maps

hi, i tried to download maps but i keep recieving spam on my computer? their seems to be no download option which is weird

Sorry for the late reply tendriver, i got the tom tom mate, think it defo needs updated, i clicked the link and it says wait for download, if i click the blue download button i get setup.exe..dont want to run that incase its another virus

Hoping for uk and eire/poss 1gb western europe as it is a 1gb device.

I have just updated the device via tom tom desktop and some details have changed so not sure if that makes a difference when choosing a map, not sure what map i need either as there is so many

There is only 1 UK&ROI map in the current edition that you can use. UK&ROI 955.6801.

Do i just use a map from either of these threads.

Also is possible for me to update my navcore/bootloader and more importantly will it be worth it as i realise its an old tomtom.

Can i also use a western europe map..the 1gb ones that include uk and roi.

Sorry for all the questions and if thats the only map i can update to then thats ok as its a lot better than whats already on the unit.

1. Yes, they are the same maps. Posts 1 & 2 of "all new maps 955' & posts 2 & 3 of "955 map collections only" are Navitotal's posts. The rest are 3rd party.
2. Yes. Downunder has a mod version of navcore 9.510 that works quite well on a XL unit. Your bootloader is OK.
3. Maps are navcore specific, not device specific. Check the compatibility chart at the beginning of all Navitotal map threads. You can use ANY map that is compatibility with your navcore & that you have enuf storage for.
4. It's the only UK&ROI map that you can use with your current navcore.
