Old Tom Tom XL... I want to upgrade my maps, mainly Canada No Idea what to do

I have no real idea how to upgrade my old TomTom XL... I am basically looking into how to load updated maps for North America, in particular Canada... Pls help

I noticed a number of people copied their ttgo.bif file...

It is a 1 gig unit, with no external memory...Any help would be appreciated.

Simply check the 915 and 910 map threads for available maps and follow the instructions provided.
We have a tutorial section as well.
With a bit more reading you would have noticed how to post your details properly - I edited your posting accordingly.

Sorry about the mistakes with my post... You are quite correct that more reading on my behalf would have help & I am also sorry for this...
I was overwhelmed with all the information that is available, along with zero knowledge regrading upgrading my device.
