Because sometimes maps come from sources where creating a meta is not available ;)

Hi there.....one quick question: What is the best North America, USA, USA & Mexico 850.2781 map to use with Navcore9.051.503855. When scrolling through the list it's hard to tell them apart. It says that all of the 850.2781 maps have ASR, ALG, IQ Routes, so what's the difference between the duplicate map types under each section besides size maybe?

Thanks!

PS (I still have not figured out exactly what I'm doing yet with updating my GPS, I've just been playing around)
My Current TomTom One XL-S (Text-to-Speech) Configuration

1. DeviceName = TomTom ONE XL
2. DeviceVersionHW = ONE XL
3. BootLoaderVersion = 53013
4. ApplicationVersionVersionNumber = 8010
5. ApplicationVersion = 9369
6. CurrentMap = USA_and_Canada
7. CurrentMapVersion = 720.1802

Look at chart in first post. That is exactly what it is there for.

Yes, 850.2781 is the full feature version. Which map depends on your needs. North America covers US & Canada. The other 2 are self explanatory.

Hi Popeye,

Thanks for your response. I did look at the chart I understood the chart....but that's not what I was asking. Let me try clarify myself.

Okay, I know that the general 850.2781 map IS the map I would download, but there are still different versions of this same map number listed for North America and USA/Mexico with two different sizes when you go to actually download the maps.

For example, you have:

North America 850.2781 [1.79GB]
North America 850.2781
; North_America_850_2781
57 7B A6 58 EE 88 83 0B 02 DA A8 A2 4C 0E 09 45 North_America-161.meta

OR

North America 2GB 850.2781 [1.65GB]
North America 2GB 850.2781
;North_America_2GB_850_2781
B7 3E 04 24 7F 23 B5 AA 80 B5 DF 99 95 80 79 17 North_America_2GB-161.meta

AND

USA and Mexico v850.2781 [1.70GB]
USA and Mexico v850.2781
; USA_and_Mexico_850_2781
59 37 F2 75 A9 3E 31 C7 2C 4A EF D4 D0 ED D8 5D USA_and_Mexico-161.meta

OR

USA and Mexico 2GB v850.2781 [1.57GB]
USA and Mexico v850.2781
; USA_and_Mexico_2GB_850_2781
77 5B 3B 0D 5F 9E 55 BC F6 5D 79 76 DA FB 6A 0E USA_and_Mexico_2GB-161.meta

I plan on downloading either the North America 850.2781 map OR the USA/Mexico Map.

With either one of these 850.2781 maps, there are two different sizes to download.

In other words when I asked "what's the difference between the duplicate map types under each section besides size maybe?," I wanted to know what the difference was between the two map sizes as far as content, extras, etc. because when you look at the map chart, all 850.2781 maps have both CSspeech + ACR and IQ Routes + ALG.

So when I look at that, I ask why are there still different sizes for the same map, and what's the difference between the two if they both have CSspeech + ACR and IQ Routes + ALG? What accounts for the difference in size, and, if applicable, which one works better or worse with Navcore 9.051.503855.

Thanks for responding

You are Welcome. Be aware that 2781 maps required navcore 8.20X or newer.

There's a post somewhere on here that explains the difference; the 2GB is the smaller of the same map names. The non 2GB/bigger has small details like buildings being depicted as shadows, lakes/ponds and other small details.
