In the main menu, the last page, you'll find an entry "status and information" or similar and "version".
Select that and you'll find navcore, boot version and version of active map.

I just updated my TomTom with the lastest Europe map and Benelux.
I inserted a 16 GB micro SD card into the TomTom and copied whole content of internal memory minus existing map on it. Then I used the fabulous Navitotal installer to install both map...

Worked liked a charm !

I guess using a 16 GB card is overkill but it's nice after using my mother's TomTom Start with only 1GB of memory and no option to enlarge this.
Still, it is great to have several maps and hand as you can easily swap maps without any further installing.
I can't wait to cross the ocean and wake up in TomTom and see it changing my location into LA....

Does the Benelux map have more detail than the Europe map (with regard to concerned countries of course) or is it simply the same info the Europe map has ?

Ooh, I haven't said it yet but you guys get a very big THANK YOU for all of your efforts !

Does anyone know what this map is equivalent to, only 3866 does not appear on any of the charts as of yet.
Either that or which features does it have?

United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland 880.3866

Thanks.

I've a feeling these are for one or more of the new v10 navcore devices. What it doesn't have is any cspeech files

Thanks,

I have downloaded the file just on the off chance it was the 880.3865 version with a typo, but checking the pna it is not the 3860 but definitely the 3866.

Just out of curiosity I will try loading it onto my navcore 8.410 and see what happens, other than that we will have to wait for a comparison chart to arrive, I checked the web just now but could not find one.

Edit

I just tried the 880.3866 map with both the Navcore 8.410 and also 9.205 and the map worked ok.

Although the only part I noticed was that the 'Show Lane Image' on page 3 of 8 was greyed out, so would not let me chose to have it showing or disabled, so I can only imaging it is more like the 880.3868 version.

FYI, the TT Team scans the internet several times a day, looking for updates. If it isn't posted here, it's because it isn't.

From tweety I found it's for XL (30 series) TTS, 325S, 330S

Please forgive my ignorance as I don't fully understand all of the different TT models etc.

All I know is, as in my earlier post I tried it on my TT ONE (not sure if it's a v1 or v2) with both the Navcore 8.410 & also 9.205 and it works, although seemingly as a basic version with no lane guidance.

1. Go here: TomTom Current Config for newbies {29.09.2011} Read the instructions. Download & run this app. It will tell you your version.
2. Lane Guidance (ALG) is a map feature, not a navcore feature.

Thanks.

I checked the .bif file (also ran the config tool) and it is a:
DeviceVersionHW=ONE (v2)

I see that there is an updated compatibility chart with 3866 maps listed. However, the 3866 and 3868s seem to be the same - but there must be a difference in the two UK maps, for example. The question is - which is better?

Sun Nov 27, 2011 12:00 pm

Obviously the 3810 is the better of the three so-far, and lets face it there's only a few MB difference, although if the 3865 map should surface I will probably use that one seeing as I don't either have the speech capability or the need of the speech function on my TT One.

3866 includes one extra file called cphonmlh.dat but otherwise they have the same content.
3866 is for the XL (30 series) TTS, 325S, 330S whereas the 3868 is for the 300, 500, 510, 710, One, XL etc

Thanks for that. I'll use whichever comes up first for my TT One V3 then:)

Stick with 3810. Delete the ASR folder & cspeech files & you have a navcore equivalent to 3865.
