It's not a matter of who wins. I have been doing this a long time and sorta know what I'm talking about. Part of my job is to ensure that other members don't read misinformation.

We will be here for you, the next time you have a problem.

I have been trying to update my One XL with a new Australian map for a day or two but I am kinda stuck. I tried a couple of keygens but failed.

This is the most helpful place I have found, so I restored the backup I made before I changed anything and tried some of the tools here.

So far, no dice.

I currently have:
[TomTomGo]
DeviceName=TomTom XL
DeviceVersionHW=ONE XL (v9)
...
RamDiskVersion=20081015
BootLoaderVersion=55026
LinuxVersion=238932
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8017
ApplicationVersion=9381
UserLanguage=English UK
...
CurrentMap=Australia
CurrentMapVersion=815.2059

I let TTHome update the XL and then disabled TTHome and reconnected the device to my PC.

I installed FastActivate Premium on the XL root and ran it to update meta.txt and to patch ttsystem/PNDNavigator only. The date on ttsystem has not changed but I now have a new PNDNavigator file.

Then I downloaded and ran Australia 860.3124_Installer.exe on my PC because it is recent and seemed easiest. All went fine. I turned the XL off and disconnected. Turned it back on and waited for the long startup.

Now I still have only the old map. I tried to select the new map but it offers only one ("Australia"). There is a .dct in both map folders.

What am I missing?

Things I have not been able to clarify:

1. Should the old map be removed before starting? I tried it and ended up with "No map found" after the upgrade.

2. Do I need to force the XL to reboot?

3. What else can I try?

Many thanks!

The 860.3124 versions are new & not much info on them is available. I suspect that version is not compatible with your 8.017 navcore. Go for a different map or update your navcore.

Please can someone help me and tell me witch Navcore i have to instal an with map i can download i want a New Western Europa map..
Thank you ..

For latest navcore info go to the thread with this name. All info is indicated there.

Further motrre i had similar messages when updating a XL IQ routes, from which the maps were deleted by ingcorrrect use of tthome.
I managed to get it running by using the correct maps (3126 wouild be OK) I would hovwever prefer the 3100 maps.
After installation you can activate the maps. However this does not always work. For updating the XL one I used first the Autoactivate keygen, which did not work. The message was the same as yours. Then i used the Fast activate key, which also did not work.
The following step whhat worked for me was: Updating (replacing) the navcore to the latest version of the TomTom xl-one, restarting of the TT in order to have the correct ttgo.bif file, patching of the tomtom with the fastactivation keygen (Button 4) Followed by updating the metafile update (Burtton 1) and patching of the maps (Button 2) Following these stepd i got the XL to work again.

I expect the updated navcore 8.4 is not the problem. its just a question of correct map activation.
I had as indocated a similar problem on an XL iq routes with lost maps. I was only succesfull after patching the TomTom navcore with fastacticator, (Button 4) followed by the actions under buttons 1 and 2.
I expect no differences between the different navcores as long as they are clean at the start and compatible with the TT hardware.

Regards, Blek

There is no reason that a 860.3100 map will not run on a XL IQ, as long as it will fit on the XL's 2GB memory. The only reason that AutoActivate or FastActivate don't work is user error.

If 8.412 was working with an older map, there is no reason it won't work with a new map. No, you don't have to download the original navcore.

Im have TT XL IQ Routes myself and i have a 860.3100 map working fine on it. My device has 64 M Ram and 2G memory.

Also, have patched it either TT Home and System device using Fast Activator. I also use it allways since i use it to patch Fuel Prices, Speedcams, etc...

To make it short, yes that patcher works, just pay attention to and how you are using it, and it will work to you too

I have a XL335S (XL IQ Routes with TTS, 2GB internal and 64MB RAM).
I currently have USA_Canada_and_Mexico_P_2GB_850_2784 installed and working fine.

When I download USA_Canada_and_Mexico P 860.3121 and try to unrar it, I enter the password (navitotal) and it starts to unrar. Then I get several CRC and wrong password errors. So I download the files again and same results. This also happened with North America P 860.3121.

If I ignore the errors and let the files unrar anyway, I can install the maps, but I just get a garbled map when I try to use the TomTom.

Am I doing anything wrong or is it just a problem with the maps having errors at the d/l site?

Thank you.

Did you copy & paste the password "navitotal"? If so, type it in rather than c&p. I'm curious,why did you select 860.3121?

Ten:

I typed in "navitotal"; if it were the wrong password, it wouldn't have begun to unrar at all. I only got CRC and password errors after it began unrarring.

I choose 860.3121 because it has HNR, which I took to mean that the maps show address numbering on the streets. This sounded cool to me.
I could be totally wrong and it could mean something else :-(
Also it doesn't have Cspeech, which I can't use because my XL335S doesn't have a mic.

Thanks for your reply.

Are you using WinRar 3.9X or newer? Extract the last part and all will extract.

HNR is very handy, if you live in Greece or Russia.
