I'm sorry but, you need a better translator. I have no idea what you are asking.

Hi,

Im new here and do not understand the chart. Can someone please explain it to me!! I have tomtom One 3rd and have no idea if these maps will work on my tomtom or not. Im from Aus btw

First of all the chart on page one is now a old chart and will be superseded by 895.xxxx map chart (eventually) but hopefully just a few more days to go.

Hopefully you have gathered that the numbers down the left-hand side (890.xxxx) relate to the map version and the numbers along the top row state which navcore can or should be used and you triangulate from Left to right then UP to see which navcore is recommended.

Image

For a map version of 890.4224 you would need to use a navcore of at least 7.8XX
For a map version of 890.4238 you would need to use a navcore of at least 9.00X

I have a TT One v1 and find that all of the maps work, BUT, for some unknown reason this time around I find I am having to try various navcores to get the proper features showing or even working, but apart from navcore 8.4 which I don't have a problem with, the best version navcore I have recently found is 9.450.890926.99.

Other than that navcores are a mine field and it is very much a case of trying different ones until you find one that either you like or does the job.

Also remember, if using TT Home, then TT Home does not always show all of the features for all of the maps, but for me, as long as the map plays in TT Home I don't mind providing the features work in the actual satnav unit.

Now as you may of noticed by other peoples questions, what works for one person may not necessarily work for everyone.

Good luck and hope that help.s

1. The issue is not which SE navcore, but how the navcore is set up. BTW, the only difference in 9.430 & 9.450 is 9.450 supports Asian languages.
2. Changing maps should not require changing navcores, unless you want more features than your current navcore will support.
3. ALL maps will "play in TT Home" after the current navcore's "Operate my device" .dll file has been patched.

I don't want more features, just the features that come with either the map or the navcore to work as they should work.

At the moment I have 3 different versions of the '9.430' and get 3 very different scenarios when trying any of them, however I have found that the 'Navcore 9.430 SE' version is as close to working properly as I think I will find.

Navcore 9.430 SE
Navcore 9.430 Fullbackup
Navcore 9.430 XL

With some of them it might be little things like when you select not to display the current time or arrival time then I do not expect it to be shown, which it does on some versions.
(I have a clock on my dashboard and can also tell what time I will arrive simply by looking at the clock and looking at the remaining time on the TT)

Or some versions do not display the ALG when running a demo, so I assume it will also not work when on a actual journey, especially when there are no settings in the menu to be seen.

The same can be said for when tapping the Fuel Station icon in the quick start menu, you expect to get something to do with fuel, not a message asking to give TT user information and can not be disabled.

Obviously these are relatively minor or maybe even considered petty problems but I believe if it's there it should work (preferably properly) but as these are all free to us users the best we can do to overcome any problems is to keep on trying.

Although one big problem with the 'Navcore 9.430.890926.1' was that the satnav actually turned itself ON on a few occasions after it had been turned off.
Whereas the 'Navcore 9.430.890926.2' although a couple of minor menue issues works fine.

I would assume that some of these problems are the result of the navcors' being formatted for specific models and obviously not just for my ancient TT One v1.

Please don't get me wrong, I am very appreciative for the hard work that people go to to give us for free that which we want.

I don't mean to be rude or insensitive, just telling it like it is. Every one of your issues is from a lack of understanding of the workings of modified navcores.

No you are quite correct, my problem is not knowing how to modify a navcore so it will do what I think it should be doing, hence the reason for trying all the different versions in the hope of finding one that covers at least all the major problems.

Maybe I need to spend more time in the tutorial section.

The SE versions are already modified. All you have to do is set it to the model that you want it to emulate.

Ah, but that's my main problem, I don't know how or what settings to change to emulate my model (TT One v1) and still have all the menu options doing what they are supposed to do.

Although I did find one setting in the new '9.450memoryboost' which when changed worked much better, I had to change the setting because trying to use the menu icon to do the change it just kept freezing, but fortunately someone had left a small piece of information on what they did which is what I copied and that helped loads.

At the moment I am just reloading a 9.205 navcore to start from a nice fresh install to see if that helps.
Currently the problem is not being able to get ALG working on my 895.4438 map, on some navcores it works and others it does not.

1. It depends on whether you are using a SE version or a dsa version.
2. OK
3. Same answer as point 1.
4. The ALG feature of a map is functional with EVERY navcore that the map is compatible with.

Earlier today when it did boot from the SD card (different card to what I am using at the moment) everything worked well except the ALG function.

Unfortunately my original folder with my previously saved working navcors became corrupted, which is why I am having to try various new ones to find any that work properly, or at least work the way they are supposed to work.

Well the bad news is I am still trying to get the 9.205 navcore / Map working, but it will not boot on the satnav, but I've had enough for one day so am calling it a night. Maybe approaching it with a fresh mind later today hopefully will help.

1. No comment without knowing what you had loaded on the card.
2. The ONLY navcore that will work properly, or at least work the way they are supposed to work, is the current official one for your device.

1. I am trying to use 'UK_&_ROI_895_4438' &/or 'Europe_2GB_895_4438'

But as said earlier, with some navcores' even the ALG does not work, or ALG works but the menu's do not necessarily do what they are supposed to do.
Basically parts still display even when disabled in the menu, obviously that is not stopping the map/ALG functions, but it would just be nice to get one working properly as it should.

Current information is:-

TTGO.BIF:
DeviceName=TomTom ONE
DeviceVersionHW=ONE (v2)
BootLoaderVersion=55250
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9205
ApplicationVersion=547817.1
CurrentMap=UK_&_ROI_895_4438
CurrentMapVersion=895.4438

2. Which navore would you recomend that I try, or what is the official navcore?

3. As for which navcores' have I tried, well just about all of them that I have found listed.

1. With 9.205 as it shows in your .bif? Where did you get it? How did you patch it?
2. As I said ALG will function with any ALG map and a complatible navcore.
a. What do the menu's not necessarily do, that they are supposed to do. Screen shots would be a big help.
3. Screen shots would be a big help.
a. I repeat, "The ONLY navcore that will work properly, or at least work the way they are supposed to work, is the current official one for your device".
4. Current official navcore for your ONE is 7.903
5. What you are looking for does not exist.
