1. The .bif file was created by installing the navcore and maps then rebooting before activating the map with 'FastActivate_15.08.2012_Premium_edition_v1.8.9.0'
and the information provided was produced with the 'TTCurrentConfig' tool.

2. I don't dispute that, just that for some unknown reason mine do not always allow the ALG function, as with this current navcore of 9.205.
With the current 9.205 all of the menu items function as they are supposed to do, but ALG will not display on the screen, with other navcores it does display but then the menu's do not always work properly so it is not a problem with the map.
a. With some navcores I un-tick the options of displaying things such as 'Current time and Arrival Time, but when using the satnav the current time and Arrival time are still being displayed on the screen and when I go back to the menu the option has had the tick mark replaced when it should still be un-ticked.

3a. I could display screen shots but to be honest there is nothing I can think of for a screen shot that will help, basically if I showed a screen shot of the menu with the selections un-ticked then one of the screen, all it will then show is one thing contradicting another.

5. That probably explains why I'm having so much trouble this time around. It may also explain why in the past I have also always preferred maps that run from a 8.4 navcore, so will have to wait if one has not yet been uploaded.

Thank for all your advice and help but there come a time when enough is enough, so in the meantime I am going to leave it as it is, at least the maps do work or can work, which is the man thing that matters.

I have to agree. Your issues are not a navcore problem or a map problem. They are an oldfogy problem. You are just not understanding the concept & working of a modified navcore, be it a SE mod or dsa mod. Until you do, you are never going to find what you are looking for.

I think I found a way around it by using the Truck map which works perfectly.

So hopefully once the new Truck version finishes downloading that will also work perfectly with the same navcore as the previous version of 890.4266.

But yes you are correct I have no idea what the difference is between SE and DSA mods.

1. If it works for you & you are happy, that's great. BTW, the Truck map is the Europe map with Truck attributes added on.

2. I wasn't referring to the differences between SE & dsa navcores. I was referring to the way each of them function.

I knew I'm stupid, but I don't know I am that stupid.
No matter how many times or how hard did I tried to follow the Download Instructions, I just couldn't find a right download link.
Every I tried, I got a vedio downloader.exe or ilivid stuff.
I was tring to download this one:USA and Canada 890.4235.

Before you waste any more of your valuable time, read the Download Instructions carefully, then scroll down the the USA & C links and read the included notice.

USA and Canada 890.4235 Part 3 is between Part 1 & Part 4. Part 2 is at the bottom of the list.

USA and Canada 890.4235 with Automatic Installer & Patcher Part 3 has gone AWOL!! Please read in post 1 the correct procedure to follow for this issue.

You might consider downloading USA and Canada 890.4235. Changing maps is really quite simple. Remove the old map folder. Copy in the new map folder. Patch it with FastActivate Premium 1.8.9.0 Updated 04.11.2012. Done!!
