With or without installer is only about 784MB. 4 files of each.

Struggling with UK maps, tried 4423 and 4437, the activators are not generating a dct file
Pretty unusual never had a problem before, performance was always sparkling, this has to be one of the best sites ever

The reason for this is simple. You must have a meta in order to generate a dct file

Sorry I didn't describe the problem properly, I downloaded the self installer UK 890_4237 with the self activator, normally I would expect the map to be useable after installation, the activator downloaded a fresh Meta file to replace the one on the TomTom and went through the motions of activation, but didn't generate a dct file. It did however read the Iberia and French maps which were already on the TomTom. So I deleted the Iberia map, downloaded Iberia 890_4237, used the same installation method as the UK map, the activator this time showed that it was generating a dct file, and the map was useable straight away, there being a dct file in the Iberia map folder

Sorry, please excuse my ignorance, I thought because the map was list it would install, on opening the meta file I see that there is no entry for the map I was trying to use. There isn't a day goes by without I don't learn something.

You must have missed the big red warning included in the download instructions at the top of posts 1 & 2 of this thread.

The 890.4266 map on tomtom navcore 8.842 carminat renault works that?:confused:

I'm not clear why there are two parallel threads with the latest (890 series) maps. Wouldn't it be simpler to combine them?

i formatted it, installed latest nav core, through tomtom home,
then i downloaded
Middle_East_890_4224 with Automatic Installer & Patcher
it doesn't read the map file to to patch it, it does the voices ok but it doesn't see the map folder there is no sub folder on the map,
what is the issue, please help

There is no meta available yet for this map.
So either use the old 885 map or wait a few days until the codes are available.
Fast activate will update the meta.txt for you.

The reason is that the meta for your map has not been released. This must be posred before your map can work. Should be a few days, hopefully.
