Converting TT truck

Converting TT truck

Postby rockingh » Tue May 29, 2012 6:35 pm

Hi All
I've just bought a TT one xl truck with 4Gb sd card (currently testing with 8Gb card)
Its v app 8.398 with 32mb ram (which I cant see in win 7) and boot 5.5120
I'd like a western europe map something like Western_and_Central_Europe_890_4222 (2380MB)
but that isn't compatible on the chart.
Is it best to update the navcore to a car version which is compatible and which is best version for me please?
Do I just back up the SD card (ignoring RAM ????) and download a new navcore then paste it into the sd card?
Then download new map, previously I have activated map with easy tools, is it best now to use the automatic version?
Sorry about all the questions, many thanks Chris

There is not official Truch NC for your device, so the NC is already modified and either a SE version but most likely based on the DSA version I uploaded for 32mb devices.
If the Nc is working fine for you I suggest to keep it and only update to a map of your choice.
The 4222 should be compatible with your current setup and only requires activation your NC will be patched already.
Creating a full backup using Windows Explorer is always recommended as a first step.
You can use FastActivate, EasyActivate or any up to date tool you prefer, but we only give support for our tools.

4222 requires a 9 navcore. I linked rockingh to the 9.430 thread.

Why change to the 9.430 if the truck NC works fine on the device - never touch a running system LOL
Would be insteresting to know how much Ram is available with an active route and if LoquendoTTS voices are installed/used.
Ok, thanks for the correction on the map, but than I would rather suggest to stay witht the current NC if there is enough Ram and to select a diffent map.
It's often quite hard to squeesze enough Ram out of a V9 on a 32mb model especially if you are not happy with the standard emulation.

Thanks Guys
Still confused then, is it best to stay with current NC and try 4222 or find say an older map which is compatible?
I'm certainly reluctant to mess too much with a working system.
For your infomation with an old europe map its aying that there is 6.9mb ram free?????
Thanks

Europe_TRUCK_890.4266 (2535MB)OR
Europe_TRUCK_890.4266 with Automatic Installer & Patcher
; Europe_TRUCK v890.4266

Just to make sure in my own mind i've changed to my old truck map.
I assume you mean the edit vehicle profile and make it car there?
Thanks again
Also wondered how long roughly downloads take with a 10mb line! 2.3mb file

1. That's a pretty good assumption.
2. The map is 2.3GB, not MB. If you can hold a steady 10MBS download, it will take around 4 minutes.
