Hi All.
Been 10 months since last updating my map on my TT One 3rd edition.
Took a copy of the whole SD card.
Deleted the current Map Australia 875.3671
Copy New map over Australia 875.3671

Run Fast Activate, get the following (no matter where the exe for Fast Activate is located)

Speed cameras:

Does this mean it's not seeing the Map?
When I go to use it, the TT comes up with, You cannot use this map on this device.

Any help is appreciated, never had this problem before.

Not sure why someone would need a new thread for a problem that was discussed so many times....
Since you did not mention anything about it I simply assume you are using an outdated version of FastActivate.

If it was discussed many times, I haven't found the answer.

The version I'm using is 05.07.2012_Premium_edition_v1.8.8.9

Also tried 05.07.2012_Premium_edition_v1.8.8.9

If there's a later version I haven't found it.

can be mean, meta is not released, you not say what is your new map version

Also tried running directly off my computer and the map also on computer.

I think I understand.
The map I have, has no META data. Will downlaod a map that does and try again

you use OLD version, latest version not contain any update progress...
get latest here:-

and use latest meta.txt (28.7.2012)

Since the recent upheaval of no more meta files from the original source (except from members) The 'OLD' FastActivate_v1.8.8.0 which also used to automatically download the latest Meta file no longer works and should not be used as it will also overwrite and meta file you insert with a older version which will not work and you need to do 2 things.


1. Download the latest (FastActivate_v1.8.9.0) This version does not automatically download a meta file.
2. Manually Download the latest Meta file and insert it into the root of your map card along with the FastActivate generator.

In the past we could download a map file, then wait for the meta.txt to eventually arrive. Now is it worth downloading the map file unless the meta.txt already exists, because we don't know if a meta.txt will ever arrive and in a lot of instances, would be just be a waste of a download.

A. FastActivate never automatically updated the meta.txt. The user always had to click the Update button. Version 1.8.8.0 still works with the current maps by using the current metas in a mymeta.txt file. Reference the FA Update Changelog & you will notice that the only real differences from version 1.8.8.0 to 1.8.9.0 are meta.txt updates, except 1.8.8.9, which eliminated the Update feature. I am not saying keep 1.8.8.0, but am merely correctly incorrect info.

1. Automatically?? See point A.
2. FA 1.8.9.0 is up-to-date as of today (19.08.12) with ALL available metas.

B. You are spot on. Based on the small number of metas that were available for the 890 maps (178 available maps & only 61 metas), I would not download a map without a meta, with 1 exception. I would not hesitate to download the "main" full featured map for any country or area. Example: 890.4222 or 4223.


BTW, EVERY Navitotal 895 map link will have the following disclaimer posted with it.
"This map can't be activated until the meta is posted here!"

in order to not open a new thread, I would like to post my question here too.
It comes about a TT.7916 on WM 6.1 and WM 6.5 devices.
Until now more than 7 editions of 8xx maps has been successfully activated on them, with FastActivate (and AutoActivate).
recently, I tried in the mean time, two of the latest ones:
Eastern Europe 890.4234 and Europe 2GB 890.4224.
I am using FastActivate version 1.890 with integrated Metas from 15.08.2012.
The first map was activated successfully, while the latter not. When in TT and choosing it, a message; This map is not activated. Do you want to activate it now" apperars on both devices.
Could you advice on this ?
