looking for 895.4437

Postby cibofbs » Mon Sep 03, 2012 7:20 pm

Dear

I own a GO 740 with v8.371 navcore.

I'm looking for this:

Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB_895_4437

I try Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB_895_4438, but it didn't work with v8 nacore, only v9

Thank's if anyone of you had it for me

1. Current official navcore for a 740 is 9.430. Update to this current navcore & use 4438, instead of looking for 4437 that nobody has.
2. BTW. If a W&CE 2GB 895.4437 exist & is available, Navitotal would have it.

Tendriver

I know 9.430 navcore is the current official navcore, but it's a mess: I found it much more slower than 8.371. I try the 9.430 two times, separate by 6 months, and each time the same thing when I go back to 8.371 navcore: my 740 look like brand new, with the same OV2 files.
I'm so sorry of that because 9.430 look very nice.

That's my reasons

I loaded 9.430 on a X20 using bootloader 5.5277 the day it came out. If it ran any faster, it be supersonic!!
Changing navcores has nothing to do with OV2 files.
Where did you see that a W&CE 2GB 4437 map exists?

I saw here that "4437" subversion exist: [Please Register or Login to download file]
but no clue for W&CE.
The chart let me think it will be compatible with the 8.x navcore.
I understand that route planner speed is (should not be) not impacted by OV2 file, but it could impact the navigation, regarding how you set them (display or not, warning, amount PI in the OV2, ...)
My brother have also the same tomtom device, and see the same thing: route navigation is slower, the menu display is also slow (you have to touch longer the screen for buttons to activate).
We had together LIVE services: maybe 9.430 is dealing bad with LIVE services, and slow down the device ?

Except updgrading to 9.430 navcore, is there any solution without loosing functionnalities (ALG, IQ routes, ...) ?

1. The chart lists all of the versions, but it doesn't mean that every map will have every version. The W&CE 2GB 895 versions are 4436, 4438, 4444 & 4446. At this time, 4436 & 4438 are the only two that are available.
2. True. A 4437 map is compatible with 8.XXXX navcores.
3. True.
4. Not so on my X20. A light tap is all it takes.
5. How much "Free RAM" does your unit have?
6. 4438 maps are compatible with every navcore from 9.02X on up.

If possible, both would be great.
