Map Australia_885 versions

Postby maverick09 » Sat Feb 25, 2012 10:27 pm

There are 3 versions for the 885 Map that was released recently:-
Australia_885_4021 [143MB] OR
Australia_885_4022 [132MB] OR
Australia_885_4095 [130MB]

I know that the 4021 and 4022 versions come with both Cspeech + ASR and also IQ Routes + ALG
Are there any other differences between the two (besides Navcore compatibility). I've got a TOMTOM 730 that's recently been updated to Navcore 9.40. Would there be any beneficial reason why I would use Map version 4021 rather than 4022?

The highest Map Version (4095) has IQ Routes + ALG, but lacks Cspeech + ASR, are there any beneficial reasons to use this version rather than 4021 and 4022?

A 730 with a 9.400 navcore can run darn near any map posted. It can also use all 4 features that you listed. I wouldn't want a map that lacked features that I can use. Scratch 4095.
4021 & 4022 have the same features, but 4021 is a bit larger, indicating it has more detail. Scratch 4022.

More important than the reasons above, 4021 is the only version with it's meta posted & is usable at this time.

Unless someone can confirm that there's more (or even optimized) functionality programmed into the 4022 release, I suspect the only other reason why 4021 is larger is because it has to accommodate a wider range of Navcore versions (both version 8 and 9).

This is probably much like why Word Documents saved in MS 2010 Office w/o backward compatibility for previous MS Office releases are much smaller than those saved with backward compatibility.

One wonders though, why anybody would want to install 4095 over 4021 - Both builds apparently support the exact same range of Navcore versions, but 4095 lacks CSpeech + ASR functionality. Even if storage space on GPS unit is scarce enough to be of concern, the 4095 is only a mere 13mb smaller than the 4021 build!

1. Nope.

2. Nope.

3. Could it be that some units don't have a mic & don't need Cspeech.

Hi, I can't seem to get the aus 885_4021 to activate with fastactivate. I was running 875 fine, just downloaded, extracted and copied to root. Then updated fast activate but when I go to patch it shows no map. :confused:
Could it be a bad download? Current specs are:
TTGO.BIF:
DeviceName=TomTom GO 720
DeviceVersionHW=GO 720
BootLoaderVersion=55250
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9205
ApplicationVersion=547817.1
CurrentMap=Australia_875_3613
CurrentMapVersion=875.3613
TTNAVIGATOR.BIF:
TTGO.BAK:
Not Found...
TTGO.ORI:
Not Found...

Thanks in advance.

Put a copy of your 720's ttgo.bif file & FA in the 4021 map folder. Run FA.

Im having a problem also. I have an aris t160 PDA running windows mobile version 5.0 OS 5.2.195 (build 14929.2.2.1) I have downloaded the Map Australia 885 4022 and tried FA and AA on the system. FA activates Australiaa-453.met .dct ok and Australia-21.meta .dct ok but I do not have Map 4021 on my machine the latest Australian Map on my machine it is 13. meta. Therefore my new map 4022 is not patched. I know that the meta file for Aust 885 4022 is not posted on your web page but it is in the automatically downloaded meta file. I activated my previous maps, which worked ok, with Alberts Easy activator 5 which I accidently deleted from my machine. The Easy activtor 5's which I try to download now all show a Trojan (Generic.dx!bcq4) with my Mcafee virus protector which deletes the file. Easy activator 6 is not compatable with PDA's. Do I have to wait for the meta file to be posted on this site or can you help.

Yes I did but now two have meta's are posted and I thought because the auto generated meta file hade my maps file posted in it it may work. I was hoping that one of the moderators i.e. downunder or trentdrive may have also been able to help with the trojan problem I've had with Alberts Easy Activator. Thanks for you quick reply. Should I post this somewhere else to have them see my problem.

Since we do not host Albert's Activator we offer no support either.
If there are no meta codes posted with a map FastActivate won't have the codes either.
And you can't activate a map with the wrong codes anyway ;)

ALL 885 AU metas are posted in the 885 map thread. FastActivate Premium 1.8.8.5 should patch with no problem. Click the first 2 buttons left to right.
