I'm looking for a map for Canada less than 1Gb.
My GPS is a Tomtom xl, navcore 8.083.

Which reference map do i need and where can find it?

If you bother to check the current map thread you will find sevarl maps containing canada that fit your size limit.

If I ask this question, it's because I didn't find it.
I mean I found Canada-Alaska 925.5409 but it doesn't work "you can't use this map on this device".

So I should try another version but which one? Or maybe i made a mistake during installation...

So I have dowloaded Canada-Alaska 925.5409. Copy - paste to my device and i get the same error.
Did I miss something? Like modify a file or something else.

Plenty of maps here. Just open it with a torrent client.

Yes!! You missed the fact that NONE of the Canada-Alaska_925 Edition maps are usable.
Use the current C A 945 map that I posted for you in post 2.

Sorry i made a mistake in my past post. It was 945.6243 and not 925.5409.

OK. Confirm that you are patching the map with FastActivate.exe option 2 & the navcore with FA option 3!! If there isn't a .meta.dct file in the map folder, after running FA, then your map isn't patched. If not patched, put FastActivate.exe & a copy of your ttgo.bif file in the map folder & run option 2.

Ok, I didn't know, I'm a beginner.
So I found a tutorial about fastactive, and all is alright. Map works!!!

1. You are Welcome.
2. USA & Canada speed cams are FREE & are initially downloaded thru TT Home, Add Traffic Voices & Other Services, Safety Cams. Then updates are included in Update My Device. Even though they are free, they must be patched only once after the initial installation. Use FA option 2.
