Ok will do. doesn't the automatic map patcher do that for you when it downloads the meta.txt. Before it patches it?

Just checked the maps on here I see what you mean you need to make sure it has a meta.txt underneath the download link will try that tonight. Is that why I have problem with uk postcodes ?

You have problems because the map you selected can not be activated, your device must use some other map and into that folder you have to put the post codes.

The meta code must be available for the patcher to find it & use it.

well its all working:) got the 880 map working even the postcodes are working now i think i need to add a folder called zip to the root of memory card. Thanks to everyone for all your help:grouphug:

2. Copied from post 11.
Extract and copy the "Zip" folder to the root of your TomTom. The file will create it's own folder when it is unzipped. The zip folder should be where the navcore is, internal or on a card.

When I saw the word zip I thought you just installed the files from the zip folder not have a folder called zip oohh wel got there in the end

Oh by the way should the tomtom cameras make a sound when I approach them. As I used the have the PGPSW cameras which beeped I now have the proper tomtom ones and I went past a mobile camera site today it just should it on the map no sound

You must set up the alerts in the TT menu.

On the way home from work today it did pick up the speed camera and beeped it doesn't for the mobile camera areas though. But I don't have a option for speed cameras on my tomtom where would it be I'm using the navcore 8.414
