Maps for TomTom One 30 Series?

Postby sunflowerstarr » Fri May 06, 2011 11:03 pm

Hey I have a TomTom One 30 Series unit and want to update the maps but am unsure exactly how to proceed and which maps I should use.

According to TT Home I am running:

Version: 8.017
Map: US_AND_CANADA v725.1914

Sorry for the noob question and if I posted in the wrong place, just trying to get the info to get this updated. Thanks!

Well, you can read our tutorials for a start.
After that simply follow the instructions in the map thread and check the chart for the right map version.

I too have a One 30 series Europe with 1gb memory. But i have UK & New Zealand maps v865 3245 and they work fine.
Check the size of your internal memory then pick a map you want and make sure it will fit along with a newer navcore for better detail maps to work ( i use v8412 SE ) then either cut a paste over old navcore and add new map or format TomTom and add new navcore, add speed cams then run a keygen ( i use fast active ) and thats it.

Sorry its taken so long to respond, had a lot of other things that took up my time. I have looked through the tutorials but I am still feeling really confused. Maybe its my ADD kicking in badly because normally stuff like this is not a problem. I know from the tutorials that it says "In EVERY case, the “best” navcore for your device is ALWAYS the latest official/current version released for your device which is available via TTHome for free and should be totally trouble-free." I guess my first question is how do I tell which navcore I am currently running? That way I can start to figure out if I need to start by updating that or not.

After I figure that out I know I want to try to get the newest maps. Theres the forum for the Maps v7.xx and Maps v8.xx. I am not sure which forum to look in for the chart. What is the difference in the versions? I just need a better push than the tutorials seem to be giving me. Sorry if I sound dumb because this is stuff that I can normally figure out, but this just seems to be going way over my head. Thanks again!

Turn on TomTom tap bottomright corner and above the DONE button it will say version X.XXX That is the navcore version you are using and the origional latest for mine v4 is 8.010 but it will not run IQ routes or lane guidence so i use 8.412.
Hope this helps

2. There's the forum for the Maps v7.xx and Maps v8.xx.

1. Connect your ONE to your computer. Run TT Home "Update my device". If there is a newer navcore available for your unit, TT Home will install it for you.

2. 865 is the current map edition. All New Maps 865.XXXX
