Navcore 9.450 compatible maps

Navcore 9.450 compatible maps

Postby Tsar » Wed Jun 27, 2012 1:10 pm

Hi guys,

I've installed the navcore 9.450 on a Tomtom XL, and I've tried to install 890.4222 and 890.4223 maps and with both I get this error "Can't use this map with this device"

I've used Fast Activate, it gives me OK in every part, but the map doesn't work, I'm testing in Tomtom Home, not on the real device, is this ok?

Can someone help me please?

Thanks

1. Just map numbers is meaningless to us. What areas do they cover??

2. No, it is not OK. TT Home "Operate my device" is just an emulation/simulation & should not be used for testing purposes.

This is not a valid statement without knowing specifically which maps are being referred to.

Only difference between 9.430 and 9.450 is the ADDED support for the asian languages and a slightly different kernel -there is no real difference in the NC as the both use the same files and even the DLL for the emulation in Home ;)

You are correct to a point. Navcore 9.450 and Navcore 9.440 are primarly for Chinese maps, BUT they are not limited to Chinese maps.

I get the same message when I'm trying to use the United_States_2GB-562 map (v890.4222) on my GO920 device. First I downloaded and installed NC9.430 through TomTom Home, then patched both map, navcore and Home with FastActivate - everything seemed OK, but then the map can't be selected on the device - Just got the message "Can't use this map with this device". Anyone got a clue?

This message almost always means the map is not patched. Look in the United_States_2GB 890.4222 map folder. If you don't see a .meta.dct file, then indeed the map isn't patched. If this is the case, put FA 1.8.8.9 & a copy of your ttgo.bif file in the map folder & patch the map by clicking the map button only.
Possibility #2. The navcore didn't get patched. Download this pre-patched 9.430 ttsystem file & model.txt file [Please Register or Login to download file]
Copy the 2 files into your navcore, disconnect & reboot.

It worked! Thanks a lot! It was the NavCore that wasn't properly patched. Downloading the SE Navcore as you described worked perfectly. Thanks again!! :D

I am having the same problem... However the link you are providing is not working. And I am not using fast activate. I am using the automatic patch
