Need Help With TomTom one 3rd Edition

Postby whitearrow38 » Mon Feb 20, 2012 11:32 am

hi all
First of all:Thumbs up for the amazing job
A friend of mine gave me his old tomtom. I ran the config tool and here is the result

DeviceName=TomTom ONE
DeviceVersionHW=ONE (v6)
BootLoaderVersion=55001
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8010
ApplicationVersion=9369
CurrentMap=Western_Europe_1GB
CurrentMapVersion=715.1689

Could you please help me in upgrading the map and navcore? I've spent almost 4 hours around the different posts with no luck

Thanks

Well, that the best option would be your friend does it.
I don't see a point in "fixing" something for someone else if the basic knowledge is missing, let alone the understanding for a simple forum structure.
If you look closely you'll find a tutorial and help section, as well as sticky threads with all the info you need - this goes for the maps as well as the Navcores.
So I strongly suggest you do some reading first...

What area do you need map coverage for?

A 885 version isn't available yet.

Go here All Maps 880.XXXX Read the download instructions. Scroll down to Europe_1GB_West_880_3868 Download either version.

More instructions to follow.

Hi tendriver, this is exactly what I did, thank you.
the map is working.
Now, the issue I'm coping with is the installation of Safety Cam POI
Indeed, I've copied the OV2 files, I've applied the FastActivate Tool but still the POIs are not visible in the list of the POI
Any clue?
thx

I think I found the solution there
http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?6933-TomTom-Official-Speedcams-18.2.12&highlight=cameras

These cams DO NOT show up as POIs. The alerts are set in TomTom Services.
To confirm the cams are functioning, create a route, where you know you will be going past a camera (Safety camera warnings are now only given when relevant and on the same side of the road). In Route Summary, do a Demo of the route. If the camera shows up on the Demo, VOILA!!

Hi Tendiver
unfortunately, I can't make the cameras work.
I've copied Safety_Cam_FR_Premium.ov2 and Safety_Cam_FR_PremiumOv2.ver in the Maps folder, then I've executed FastActivate, clicked on "Update Meta" and then "Maps/Voice/Speedcams". Should I do something else?
Thx

esit: Regarding the Navcore update, I guess SE_Navcore.8.412.1236_32mb_devices.rar would do the trick. BUt I've one question: What would be the purpose of upgrading the navcore ? Would the UI Remain in french? Thx

1. Please Note it is illegal to use Speedcam files in France as of 01/01/2012. The French cams are not being updated any longer. The speedcam .rar contains the last French update for 2011.
Please explain, unfortunately, I can't make the cameras work.

2. With 8.412, you can use a better map. Yes, if you use a french voice & set the language to French.

Hi
1 - Nevermind for french cams. It is really important for Spain and Portugal.

2- I've updated to 8.412. the look is great now... but .. I can't find in the menus where to configure the alerts (delay, sound, etc..) now for the cameras (I've created a route with an existing camera and its is showing up in demo mode. Cool.)

1. The cams are really important for Spain and Portugal, or it's really important to have map coverage for Spain and Portugal?

2. Look in TomTom Services.

Hi tendriver
It is important to have all 3 (France, Spain, Portugal) but I do not want to break the law so if it is forbidden in France, never mind.

With the new navcore version, I cannot find the tomtom services menu.... I've been trough all menu pages... Any clue on that?

Thx

Copy the attached file into the root directory. Disconnect, reboot & look for TomTom Services. It should be on 1 of the 3 Main Menu pages.
