I recently picked up a dual din GPS/DVD/TV multi player and it did not come with GPS software. I have downloaded "TomTom 7.910.9185 for WinCE5" and it works perfectly other than maps were seperate, Then I downloaded the map "North_America_2GB_890_4224 [1623MB]" from here and everything extracted perfectly but it still boots into the TomTom software saying no maps and wants to download one but I do not have a internet connection on the unit. Can't find where the option is to make it see the map I installed into the maps folder.

Some points to consider...

1, There is no meta available for your downloaded map, so it will never work.
2, Tomtom rarely works on double din devices, especially if it's wince 6, (likely)

Even though it starts, it will crash every time you get a satellite lock, there is no fix available for this, or is there ever likely to be.

I would recommend iGO 8 or iGO Primo instead.

3. This is neither the correct forum section, nor would the problem exists if one would follow the instructions provided in the map thread

We can only supply the information, the user must be willing to read it ;)
