Official Navcore 9.430 + North America 2GB 895_4438 - Map ca

Postby andrewsfm » Fri Sep 14, 2012 10:51 pm

Updated my navcore to 9.430 using the official TomTom Home application.

Downloaded and ran "North_America_2GB_895_4438 with Automatic Installer & Patcher" and it ran without errors.

But of course, when I turn on the device, it says the classic "You cannot use this map on this device" message.

Also tried FastActivate_03.09.2012 and it didn't help.

Suggestions?

But of course, when you turn on the device, and it says the classic "You cannot use this map on this device" message, you know it's telling you that your map is not patched. Open the map folder. No .meta.dct file = no patched map. If no .meta.dct, put FA 1.8.9.0 & a copy of your device's ttgo.bif file in the map folder & rerun FA.

Alright, let me give that a try.

I thought the map installer was supposed to take care of this automatically.

Also the device is a GO 730.

Okay, so I just tried what was suggested above, and there originally was no .dct file, so I copied the ttgo.bif file over to the map folder on the device, as well as FA, and then ran it.

It created a dct file in the map folder, so I unplugged the device and restarted it. Same error message.

Also tried to patch TTS to be sure but it says navcore already patched.

Now are you getting the "You cannot use this map on this device" message or the "No maps found" message?

"You cannot use this map on this device" is still what I'm getting.

Put the 2 files in this download into the root. Disconnect & reboot.

Worked! Thank you!

Any explanation of what the problem is and how this solution works?

Don't take this personally. I am seeing more members having problems with the auto-install maps. I'm not sure if it is a member issue, a downloaded package issue or a combination of both. The .rar in post 7 has a tried & true SE ttsystem file.

Well if lots of members are having issues, I'd say something in the package isn't working the way it was intended to.

Either way, when I try to operate my device now using TomTom Home to put a password back on it, it says can't use this map, just like the device did before.

The device has no issues, but Home does. I know it's got something to do with the @tomtom.com folder and some lines in a file that need to be changed, but I forget the procedure since it's been a while since I changed maps.

You already used FastActivate, did you check the labels on the buttons?

Oops. Yeah forgot about that.
ID-10-T error on my part.
I remember it being alot harder the last time I had to make Home work properly.
Everything works beautifully now. Problem solved!

For clarification, 1 & 2 are two seperate issues and don't have to work in conjunction with each other.

Thanks so much to Tendriver! These two files rescued my day. I've been struggling for several hours the last few days to get the Europe Central map 895.4438 to work on my colleagues TomTom Go XL system.
I hit time and time again the "You can't use this map on this device"-message, but replacing the ttsystem on the device by the one from the download-file fixed it!
Again: Many thanks, you rock!
