What can I do with this old thing?

Use it as a paperweight, play MP3's on it,use it as a picture viewer, or what most people do: use it for navigation as it's main purpose it to use it as a GPS.
But of course this would be entirely up to you to decide...
In case you still want to use it as a GPS follow the instructions provided in the map thred and for FastActivate.

I still use this same unit, it will run latest 885 UK maps, if you still need help get back to me and I will tell you what I did to get it operating.
