TomTom XL IQ Routes

Sun Nov 13, 2011 10:10 pm

Hello everyone. I have the XL IQ Routes edition and I am having difficulties downloading the right map for this unit to make it work with FastActivate 1.8. Any help will be greatly appreciated; I deleted the current map I had on the unit after making a full backup in case I cannot upgrade to latest map. Thanks!

We are very good at what we do, but we are not mind readers. What difficulties with what map??

Of course, sorry.. I downloaded map USA_Canada_and_Mexico_P_3669 and I get the 'map cannot be used with this unit" etc.. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Also, I downloaded United_States_3675 but I haven't tried that one yet.. Aside from this, the thing is that in FastActivate when it is trying to patch the map, the map field is blank, along with the Fuel and Cams fields so something tells me that the map is not compatible with the unit or navcore? Thanks!

Guys, my apologies.. All of the maps I have tried so far are version 875. I overlooked stating this on my previous posts.

This message tells us that the map is not patched. You can confirm this by looking for a .meta.dct file in the map folder. What version of FastActivate are you using? 1.8 is not a good answer. There have been 10 versions, all are 1.8.XXXX. Have you patched your 9.061 navcore or used a prepatched version?

Maps are compatible with navcores & not the unit, except for having enuf storage memory. In your case, the maps that you have mentioned here are OK.

Thanks tendriver. I'm sorry for the noob questions but I'm completely lost.. How do I get the map(s) patched or download already patched ones? I downloaded the ones I have from the 875 Map Collections on this forum. Thanks

And yes, you're right.. None of the maps are patched as the meta.dct are missing.

tendriver, I have FastActivate 1.8.7.4 and I'm not sure if you mean by patched navcore 9.061 by using the built-in feature in FastActivate? If this is not the right answer in regards the latter, then I don't have my navcore 9.061 patched then. Can you point me where to download the patched version? Thanks

Did you download them from Navitotal's 875 Map Collections post 1 or another post lower in the 875 Map Collections thread?
Put FA 1.8.7.4 & a copy of your device's ttgo.bif file in the map folder & run FA button 2.

If you use a map that must be patched, you must also patch the navcore. You can use FA 1.8.7.4 button 3 to patch it.

tendriver, I did as you instructed above. However, this is what usually happens:

FA runs (I click run as administrator, just to make sure everything runs ok):

-Pop up window showing FA with 4 tabbed options, I chose #2 "Maps/Voices/Speedcams"
-As soon as I click on it, the following appear but remain blank:
Fuel prices:
Voice(s):
Map(s):
Speed cameras:

Then,

BIF File.....TTGO.BIF
KeyGen Type...8
Device Name...TomTom XL IQ Routes Edition
Application...9061
DeviceID.....AKTYQ*****

Press any key to continue...

After this, a META.TXT is created on root drive of TomTom but no .meta.dct file appears. I'm thinking about redownloading the maps files again, maybe I downloaded an un-patched version?

Also, I patched the navcore using option #3 "ttsystem/PNDNavigator" but the same error appeared when I rebooted the unit "map cannot be used.." etc.

TTHOME is not running on computer I'm using to upload the maps.. I made sure the application is completely shutdown.. don't know what else I'm doing wrong. I'll redownload maps again.

No, don't re-download. Maps are patched to a unit. Therefore, ALL maps that you download are un-patched.

FA is not seeing your map folder. Put FA & a copy of your device's ttgo.bif inside your map folder. Run FA buttons 1 & 2.

Here is a pre-patched 9.061 ttsystem file. replace the current ttsystem file with it.

OK.. just did as instructed. I ended up downloading a patched 9.061 ttsystem file from the other thread as I did not find any attachments on your last post, however, I did as you instructed and still nothing. Should I rename the folder where the map file reside? Thanks so much for sticking with me until this point.. so far, nothing.

OK.. FastActivate 1.8.7.4 is probably not working, is the last logical thing I can think about after troubleshooting this along with you.. I will try another tool and will report back.

FA was the culprit.. downloaded AutoActivate and bingo! Thanks man for your support.
