TT930 Yet Just another Noob that feels like a Boob!

Postby HorseFixer » Fri Mar 18, 2011 12:05 pm

Hi, I have a couple Tom Toms the one that I am presently useing is a Go930 (4CH9.000.00) I would like to upgrade this unit and have a couple questions. I'll be damned if I am gonna pay TT $71.00 to upgrade my maps which are now 72 months old. Anyways I am having trouble reading the chart on what file to use? I think my unit TT (930) is at the top far right in the chart which one of the 3? And it looks like it can handle any of the files? Which one do you reccomend with best features I Llve in USA and may travel canada or mexico? So anyway after I download and unzip useing RAR do I move the entire contents file folder to my Tom Tom and then take the Fast activation out of file folder and put in the root directory and then click and run it?

How I found this helpful forum was I downloaded a file off of rapidshare and seen it had this website on it which led me here I think that file was bucked up cause I couldnt get it to run which maybe further confused me! :wallbash:

Thank goodness I made a backup cause my TT930 said "No Maps Found" after trying to upgrade it. The first time I tryed to patch TT home it looked like it worked ok now it says its missing a dll file? Anyways any help would be great! Thanks

I suggest you have a look into our Tutorials to freshen up your knowledge.
I have a few problems followng you here.
The chart shows the Navcore version/map that is compatible, not the actual device as you can use many different Navcores on a TT.
If you have downloaded your files elsewhere I suggest to use our files instead.
You have to make sure to patch the Navcore and activate the map, both can be done with FastActivate (update the meta first).
Follow the instructions in the map thread and for FastActivate and all will work fine.
For Home you must first allow Home to download the files needed to simulate your device, after that you can patch them (again FastActivate).

Thanks Downunder guroo doode! Well yes I am in the middle of downloading 8653245 but talk about the "POP UPS" YIKES!! man I guess nothing is easy, but This sure aggravates me! All the Pop-ups I mean. I had to go get some more PU blockers installed just so I could navigate the site and on top of that, I had to spend $ 15.00 buckaroos for two months premium :( I figure at this rate it may take that long. :) I will read the tutorials and let you know how I come out, that is if I don't get any more ticked off than I am now and drag this laptop out in the driveway and introduce it to my Ole pal sluggo! <<<<< Sluggo is a 15lb sledge hammer! Last month it was my Blackberry cell phone on nextel I had just about enough of their poor service I introduced it to MIAMI VISE <<< Bench top vise that otter box was no match for the 8" bench vise! :) doesn't fix the problem but sure makes me feel better!

Feels free to ask if you still have problems, but it was not necessary to get a premium for the download ;)

There is never a requirement to purchase a premium to download anything on Navitotal. To do so, is a personal choice!!!
