There are only three 880 Edition Australia maps: 3810, 3811 & 3865. All 3 are compatible with your 8.562 navcore. We will be happy to assist you, but we need more than "unit will not reboot.

The 8310 would be the better choice anyway.
Try the 8310 and make sure the map files are locate in a folder - not an additional sub folder.
Adding a map does not cause boot problems, at least if done correctly.

I'm clearing all the contents of the Australia folder and then copying over the latest map (have tried 880.3865 and 3811) and using fastactivate to initilise it. I eject the TT from the computer and try to turn it off, it wont. I have to hold the power button for 11 secs for it to power down. Now when I try to power up it will only respond to a 5 sec button press. The TT hand symbol comes up and just stays there, thats it. Fortunatly I have a full backup so I wipe the TT and restore the backup, everyting works fine then. I have sucessfully updated several maps with no hastle. Any ideas?.

When you disconnect the TT it will do a normal start.
Removing the map folder that way can cause problems, try this way:
Use your backup and start the TT, if all good, connect to the PC.
Remove the map folder and disconnect.
Now your TT will complain that you hav no map, saving this into the settings.
Connect to PC again, add the new map and activate the map.
When done turn the TT off.
Press and hold the reset button for 15+sec. if your device has no reset button do the same with the power button but for 30+ sec.
Use the TT clear flash tool and after that start the TT the normal way.

Bit of overkill, but it helped me with several older models.

Thanks Downunder35, followed your directions to the T, didn't use the clear flash tool. What did it was the 30 sec button depresion. Iv'e loaded 880.3865 and all seems well.Ta:):):)
