I do assume you've put the map in a map folder? Not all the map files in the root?
Likewise for postal codes (in zip folder)

Did you install all navcores that TomTom Home offered you? You are running v9.510 now?
Did you patch the navcore?

What do you mean with time screen?

hi yes map is in folder so is postcodes and yes i fully updated fully with tt home then added map folder and post code folder and then i ran update meta patch map and then patch navcore then gps fix in fastactivate then when i reboot it either sticks on tomtom logo or gets as far as me setting clock (clock holds right time) then i press ok and it pauses then reboot itself. and keeps looping however many times i try.

to add ive tried flash tool and still no good.

No, you don't need those.
You're running the latest navcore for your device.
You should be good to go.

Okay, I checked drdru76's method of reinstalling everything from scratch and everything should really be 100% okay only the XXL hangs at startup displaying the startup image.

I know it's no guarantee but the map works in TTH which at least proves that the activation has succeeded. Ttgo.bif shows the map and map shares are downloaded.

I sent him the BNL map (which I know is okay) and it's the same thing with that map.

The drive has been checked for errors and clear flash has been run several times.
Honestly, I can not think of any reason for the device not starting up correctly.
Last thing I suggested was (click) was to remove the currentmap and position which TTH had created and restart the XXL then.

I'm out of idea's...

Do not rename! Two altogether different files.
It's perfectly advisable to follow tendriver's instructions to the letter.

Can you reinstall ttsystem.dat and copy the system bootloader file?

Well, alternatively you can extract it from the TTH programs map. Documents\TomTom\Home\Download\Complete\Program

Just make sure you take the 9.510 version.

well i tried that and completely killed it so i started from scratch again i think i did everything. tthome says map and map share are up to date and i then placed system folder in root of tt (i did not have a system folder existing in root to replace) but still stuck on boot logo.

What folder?
You only have to put tendrivers system file in the root.

Well, a bootloader usually comes with the navcore.
You only need it once because loads into the device like a bios update on a pc.
Once it's loaded it's without use.

Unless there is a BL with a 'higher' number. But there is not always a necessity to install a higher BL. Depends on the device.
