I tried to install a 940.5963 map on an XL IQ Routes Edition, after updating navcore to 9.510.
Then activated with latest factactivate : navcore was already patched, map was updated.

When rebooted I could not access map : tomtom says it is not usable on device.
Do I have to redownload a complete map (if available) ? Should I go with 5994 without CSPeech nor HNR, or 5997 without CSpeech but with HNR ? Or do I have to retrieve an older map ?
Former map I used was a 865.3256 but I could not find matching for such an old one.

note : I successfully did the same on a Go520

Current Official navcore for a XL IQ Routes Edition: 9.510, which you have.
Current map compatible with a 9.510 navcore: 940.5963, which you have.
"Not usable on device" is the classic message when the map is not patched.
Confirm that your 5963 map has a meta code listed in the FastActivate Intergrated meta.txt file.
If so, confirm your device has a ttgo.bif file in it's root.
If so, open the 5963 map folder & look for a .meta.dct file. No .meta.dct file = map not patched.
If so, put a copy of FastActivate & a copy of your device's ttgo.bif file in the 5963 map folder, then run F/A option 2.
Re-check the 5963 map folder for the .meta.dct file.
If so, disconnect & reboot.

I have reproduced all these steps :

1. map has a meta code listed in fa meta list:
15 0F B6 7E 26 36 CE 04 0C 5B 46 5E 1B 12 D9 26 Europe_South-100198.meta ; Europe_South 940_5963

2. ttgo.bif exists in the root of the device

3. Europe_South-100198.meta.dct found in map folder

4. copied fastActivate of 2014 dec. 28th with meta file in map folder, removed old dct, ran fastactivate option 2 (says ...-> dct ok)
checked that dct is present

-> map not usable on device

Device is a tomtom XL IQ routes edition (version 1).

Is there a possibility that I need to go further than using rider nc 9.510installer1.1.exe option 1, to update navcore ?
Something else went wrong ?

Seems to be a similar issue their, resolved by going back to a previous navCore :

Finally managed to get old map working on navcore.
I did not make a clean install of navcore but kept old device folder.

For later reference : I wiped device, reinstalled navcore from scratch, rebooted device to get ttgo.bif, patched navcore & map and things are working now.

A clean install of all usually fixes all problems that are not hardware related

Since 9.510 is your Current Official navcore, I would have let TT Home update the navcore rather than using Downunder's rider nc 9.510installer1.1.exe option 1
