Where can I find the chart showing which 980 series maps are compatible with which devices?

It has not been posted yet. BTW, maps are NAVCORE specific, not DEVICE specific. If it will help you, this little chart shows what 980 map supersedes what 975 map.

975.7748/976.7818--------------------------------->980.7971
975.7749--------------------------------------------->980.7975
975.7750--------------------------------------------->980.7974
975.7751--------------------------------------------->980.7957
975.7766--------------------------------------------->980.7964
975.7685/975.7686/975.7687/976.7816-------->980.7895/980.7896/980.7897
975.7688--------------------------------------------->980.7898
975.7689/975.7690/975.7691-------------------->980.7899/980.7901/980.7900
975.7691--------------------------------------------->980.7901

Hi,

I have Australia Map v975.7687 for TomTom XXL IQ Routes Edition. What is the equivalent v980 Map for this one?

I can see it listed but does not make sense on the opposite side.

I.e. Left side reads 4 versions of v975 maps but on the opposite side only 3 equivalent map v980 maps shown. The one I have seems not to have an equivalent v980 map shown.

975.7685/975.7686/975.7687/976.7816-------->980.7895/980.7896/980.7897. which one this side is the v980 equivalent to v975.7687 ?

Thanks

You already know the answer to this...and you already have the map, just not the meta yet

But to answer the question:

975.7685/975.7686/975.7687/976.7816-------->980.7895/980.7896/980.7897/not released

So the 980 equivalent to 975.7687 is 980.7897

Map options noted, thanks guys. I am seeing a trend towards more localized maps. I guessing this is due to size limitations on many devices? Are there still very large maps that include everything or do I have to go to several regional maps to get the most information? The maps I am looking for are Canada, USA and Mexico, if I have 2 Canada and 4 USA regional maps will a route be calculated that jumps from map to map? As I have a card slot in my unit I have always looked for the biggest maps I could find but that way of thinking doesn't seem to be working so well any longer?

1. Yes, exactly
2. Yes, there are
3. No, a route cannot jump from map to map...you'd have to navigate to a point on the edge of one map, then re-route from that point on the next map etc...not ideal.
4. Yes, it is still the best way providing you have the space available which you obviously have with a Go 730/930 with NC 9.510.

There is no meta yet for a 980 map that contains Mexico, but there is a meta released for USA Canada 980.7896 which is still fairly large at 1.7GB and is fully featured too.

Then 980.7896 is the way to go for the winter travels. To bad the route planners can't jump maps as many of my trips run from one country to another then across regions, a 5 or 6 k trip is not unusual for us. I'll keep watching for the big loads as long as they are published. This site has been a great resource for knowledge and aid along with software, LONG LIVE NAVITOTAL! :023:
